I waited 6 months to get my car and I know many new members on here are probably like me.
  • Never owned or drove one of these (I was not able to find a dealer to let me test drive).
  • Always wanted one. When I found out they now have an end, it was the last convincing piece for me to get it.

I've had it for 10 days and put on 150 miles. Here's my thoughts and impressions:

Paint - Much better than I was expecting. Very little orange peel and none at all on most surfaces - Hood/Roof and Deck lid are near perfect. I did not measure paint thickness so I can't comment on that quality. I've owned many Dodge products over the years and this is the best yet.

Interior - it is what it is - comfy and good support. rest of interior is meh... for 90K car. I do LOVE the gauge cluster. I know its outdated but its an old school vibe and the three dimensionality of it looks nice.

Engine - Fricken Awesome. Those of you have these already are just plain spoiled. Only one pull from about 50 to 120 in Sport mode at full throttle (I know - engine break-in procedure...blah blah....) and it was such a smooth deliverance of power. The sound of the supercharger is mesmerizing. The exhaust is lower than I expected from inside the cabin. I don't mind as when cruising down the highway you can barely hear it. I was expecting the "active" exhaust to be louder when you get into it but for me better this way than the other way around.

Transmission: I would have loved an M6 but not disappointed with the A8. I haven't messed around with it much but the paddle shifting is fun and I can clearly feel the shift differences in the different modes. Being a Auto also helps with the Wife - she will enjoy this as much as me now as opposed to my other cars that she couldn't or didn't want to drive.

Now this is all coming from a 51 year old who has never raced a car in his life.
Bottom line: Its hard to keep this car off my mind.

Congrats. What gearing?
Also if you like shifting manually the paddles are pretty gimicky. Try bumping the shifter over to M and use that. Much more fun and you wont twist your arms into pretzels.
My custom mode = Suspension in Street, Trans in Track. Try it.

Will do - I love the feel of the transmission bang when changing gears. I guess that's the old person in me and why I put shift kits in my old 727s.

I didn't have an option to pick a different gear so it has the stock. I forget the ratio.
As most of you know - very limited options on the non-jailbreak challenger REWB's.

Love your choice of color! ;) View attachment 597826
Sweet! - Love the Black hood. Thinking about some wrap one day.

I've been saying all along that pics don't do this color justice. Even more awesome in person. It wasn't even on my radar till I saw one in a showroom.

Congrats man! I love my new Hellcat Challenger too. Wide Body and it’s black.

I Have the regular Hellcat with 717 HP. And Changing the supercharger pulley and dyno tune will add a lot more HP :D

Beautiful car man!
I know what you mean about first real fast car. I have always been a truck guy but deep down I knew I needed a fast car. I raced Moto-X when I was younger. Still feel like I could but don’t have any support for that decision LOL. Sold my Honda CRF 450 3 yrs ago and missed it bad. (Crashing hurts a lot now more at 53) Still feel the need for speed so decided a Hellcat may scratch that itch and holy shyt! Problem solved!
glad to have you here with like minded folks

Grew up on Long Island did plenty of racing on DPA used to hit Francis Lewis Blvd In queens as well, feel like all these things kinda fizzled out, kids aren’t the same with cars as us 80’s babies is nathans still a thing I remember bellmore being popular used to do some cruising/racing out by Nassau community college and Hempstead turnpike out east, cap tree/ jones beach was always for the really fast guys.
