Yes I would definitely like to know what it is. My car has never been mechanically modified all original parts and no performance add ons. There is a smart cord wired in on the passenger side but that was for the radar detector.
I appreciate the response. I do agree but instead of nagging about what someone else guesses it to be I would like to know if you have any guesses.
Wasnt a response to a guess. My own guess was implied in my post. Kill switch. Seems fairly obvious and also an obvious place to find it too. Poor placement imo. Just my guess though.
Thought you were being sarcastic. But either way I can’t find any kill switch applications that would require four wires to one push button switch and the connectors on the ends are specific to something. The white connector is pretty small compared to the blue.
Wonder if it had some lights added somewhere before and the guy took them with him. Now you really have me guessing.
Yea I’m looking into that too but mostly what I’m seeing are lights that get spliced in somehow and this has about an 18 inch cord with connectors. It has to connect to something to have gotten power. The only other interior modifications that I know of was the radar detector.
They get hardwired in to the fuse box and infotainment center. Man this really has me scratching my head. I don’t see why they left it on the car and tucked the wires it popped out of the whole with ease
No the car came from Phoenix and I had my local SRT tech check it over real good when I got it and that’s when we had found the smart cord for the radar detector but we completely missed this little black push button. Really if your not feeling for it or trying to lay on the floorboard you wouldnt know it was there. The wires were tucked into the center of the dash but not hooked up.
Does the button stay on/off, or is it momentary only when pushing? Guess you could feel with a click to stay in position. Maybe it was connected to one of the license plate blockers for tolls, cameras or some type of radar/laser jammer. Make be some type of wires or evidence of mounting on either the front or back bumper areas.
I don’t remember if is clicks on and off I’ll have to update you when I get home from work at look at it again. I have been looking online and I have found something VERY similar but it’s main purpose would be for a valet switch and I just can’t imagine they would out an aftermarket valet mode on a car that has a factory valet mode built into it already.
