"News report; recent "how to drive a manual" lessons have resulted in a 300% increase in car thefts, related to cars fitted with manual transmissions"

If they wanna learn they can get their half drunk father to yell at them on a hill for 5hours while you sit there stalling a 93 Escort repeatedly like everyone else did.

only kidding, glad to see things like this, maybe they'll keep the driver cars alive after all.

Complete waste of time. The world is rapidly leaving the M behind, this will just slow it down lol. Gotta love the diehard 'glass is half full' gumption though. This is like trying to bring back single cab pickups for most people.

I read an article that the manual tranny is hanging on by a thread because of us fat Americans refusing to let them die. European automakers have been trying to go away from manuals and invest more in automatics for over a decade. Looks like they’re finally winning.
I row my own gears everyday in my old M5. Plan to teach the kids to drive it when they get to driving age. I never thought I’d like an auto in a high performance car, but the RedEye really turned me into a believer. Of course, I’m loving the auto DCT in my current garage queen…

I really want my daughter to learn to drive a manual but so far she's not interested. She is like many in her generation and simply views cars as an appliance to get from point a to point b. I could try the tactic my dad used on me which was to hand me the keys to his 89 Pontiac Sun Bird and tell me not to come home until I figured out how to drive it. Her reaction would be I'll take the bus
