Oh Damn!! I wish I had known about this car while I was there. I will definitely keep my eyes open for this. We have a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback with a 6.4 Crate engine installed. Its a factory stock 6.4 Scat Pack crate engine with the OEM ECU and harness. Im 90% sure it will still run 10's. We have a ProTrans 904 with a 8" TA converter, Dana 60 with 4.11 gears. We are super anxious to get it back to the track. These Gen 3 Hemis are just awesome!

NA cars are awesome. Especially for bracket racing.

Is he running a carb or Holley sniper efi?

The holley sniper efi looks just like a carb. They are pretty cool. I'd like to run one on my LS motor I am putting in my mustang. The super sniper is good for 1250 hp and has the injectors in it and, again, it looks like a regular carb. And the ECU is in it too, and it's self-tuning, and you can also run it with boosted applications.

Only negative is it's like $1900, but that's better than buying multiple carbs for different engine setups, NA,, boosted, etc.

There is no substitute for cubic inches
Yep

I called it a 392 but it started out life as a 5.7

390” now and low 9’s already. Haven’t finished sorting it out so might dip into the 8’s? No substitute for a light race car either : )

That's a Cool looking car! I like the plexiglass mailbox looking scoop on it! It's really old school to me and fits the car well!

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Stickers are cheap but it's got a Holley Sniper sticker on the valve cover. That doesn't mean that it's got a Sniper on it and they might be Holley Sniper valve covers!

It’s a ethanol carb. Car runs well into the 5’s with it already and he just threw it on there. Tried running a flying toilet at first

Hey @HC5120 I have a complete Holley sniper efi system if you are looking for one. I’ll give you a good price

The valve covers on that 5.7 were next to impossible to find. Yeah they were made by Holley but they must not have made very many of them. No oil fill or breather boss is what he wanted. Guess they made both. They made em in black too but good luck finding any

The car is purple

I'm wondering if we could run those valve covers on our HC cars?

6.2 comes with a really tall (built in baffle) cover. I bet you could but depending on boost level and ring seal you would need X oil separator for the ventilation system. Unless you don’t care about codes or a mess : )

The Dart is running a vacuum pump

*which I don’t think is making any hp. He does tho. It’s belt driven so like any other pump takes power to spin. Motor only spins 7000. Max. We had to put a regular in the system being that the gen 3 oiling system is nothing like the first 2 gens. (Such low pressure comparatively). If this was a 426 it would have close to 100 psi at idle and we could pull some serious vacuum. Still dunno how much it would help as it only spins 7000. Would help with ring seal even more than it does now. 8” at idle I think it’s a wash right now

That's what I figured I'm just looking for a aluminum valve cover to dress up the engine department.

Isn’t stock aluminum? Bead blast and polish em?

I’d leave em. Black motors make more power : )
