I'd like some advice from some of the veterans on here. I have a 2020 Hellcat. I destroyed the tranny thanks to an exploding drive shaft.

I purchased a core from a seller on Facebook. Seller turns out to be a complete fraud. Without getting into details, how would you go about informing other potential buyers of this "seller"? If I post something on his page, it will be deleted.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I was thinking more on the lines of outing him on this page, Challenger pages, etc. But I dont want to piss others off.

Unfortunately, I suspect that calling them out won’t make a difference. They (or new ones just like them) will just pop up again under a different name. It’s a terrible situation.

Having said that, is there anything you would advise others to look out for? Any conditions or flags that would make you tell someone to avoid? (I haven’t bought anything on FB, so not sure what steps are involved, or if they try to help detect possible fraud).

Always pay with PP and pay the 3% service fee. Pay with a credit card. Have the seller send a PP invoice with a detailed description of the item, write it yourself if necessary and have him paste it in the PP invoice. If the item does not match the description in the invoice file a claim with PP. That's what the 3% is for.

Yes, Please at the very least share with the form here who this seller is so no one else gets burned. But again like mentioned all they do is change their name to another screen name, that is why there is a 40 post rule for buying and selling, helps weed out and limit that kind of stuff out a bit when someone doesn’t have any history of selling or buying or posting that’s your first warning to be very cautious and use a method of payment that you have recourse to get your money back if you don’t get what was said you would get for your money, A 3% fee is peanuts compared to a total loss of funds.

Always spread the word. People see before the delete. I almost bought a 2800 stall converter off of FB, but giving away $2k just kills me, so I may buy new

Just be careful outing someone. We see lots of that and tbh sometimes people dont know when to quit and it starts to reflect poorly on them. And that can make people question the entire situation. At some point a portion of the responsibility does lie with a buyer for not protecting themselves. Not saying that's you - just a word of advice.
