Hey all,

First time ordering my car and not buying off the lot. There are no holes in the rear where the license plate goes, I am assuming I am sending bolts in the bumper to hold the plate? Just hurts my soul to screw anything into it lol.


Edit: this is for the rear plate not front. There are no holes or other hardware in the rear for plate mounting. Need advise on what I need to do. Thanks

Car ships with license plate bolts in the glove box or trunk. Dealer drills the holes per the template in the bumper cover and mounts the plate with the included screws. Happens to all of us...

I put the plate on mine at delivery. Holes in rear were existing. Purchased a Sto-n-show for the front. Dimples only in the front

Well, spoke to Jake and he said that's how they send them out, and that they don't drill pilot holes. Interesting

I wonder if it's because Kentucky only requires 1 plate? I don't know for sure but I think if the state requires 2 tags then they are supposed to put the bracket and holes for you at delivery.

Anyone from Kentucky know? In Missouri both 2 tags are required. When I bought my 2018 300 new it did not have the from holes or bracket. The dealer said they would put one on for me but I declined since the law doesn't seem to enforce this since I've been running 1 plate for years and have never been pulled over (for this reason LOL).

But in his case he is referencing to the rear plates location, which every vehicle regardless of the State must have their tags in the back. In NC we only use the rear tags

Craziest thing I've ever heard of.

As far as I know they come drilled from Brampton with the nylon nuts in place.

Is this something new or is somebody pulling your leg?

The only cars that will come with a bracket are those cars with a ship-to-state on the build sheet as being one of those front plate states. That's why I advise those guys to get to your dealer asap after your car comes in and remove that bracket from the trunk and maybe just maybe they won't drill it.

I wouldn't drill it. If that's how they come then a dealer has to do it with the right size bit because there's a nylon female push in nut that the screw will attach to. Do not just thread it into the bumper. I swear I thought Brampton did this.
