So I saw that a lot of threads discussed the 2022 vs ordering a 23. However, most are older and there are VERY few 22s left, if any, at least for Super Stocks.

So, I have the choice of getting an SS that's on the lot.

Pros: Its a Super Stock. Did I mention its a Super Stock? Rare. Has the black hood and pins and HK sound. Its on the loat and I can drive home this week. I do YT videos and having the car early, while everyone is all buzzing about them, is a boost. Might actually help me you know, make my first dollar there LOL (Im disabled, its all I can still do, dont hate on me)
Cons: Its white (for me least fav color). It has a sunroof (which fine, I do youtube, so lighting while yapping my mouth in the car might be ok). ADM is 30k and deposit is 40k, so I have to move money around.

Door number 2
Getting deposit back and waiting for 23 orders to open. Then pick my SS how I want it. Octane Red, Demonic red seats, no sunroof, no black hood, maybe stripes whatever.

Pros: Its how I want it, and can see myself keeping it forever plus one. It is rarer (does it matter if I never sell lol), its a looker. It will probably be less that 30k ADM over sticker
Cons: I have to wait who knows how long (which Im ok with, IF I get it, which is point 2), what if it doesnt get built. Im worried that connections and nepotism may affect whatever allocation I get, or if it gets bumped so far down that it never gets fulfilled. Another negative are the rumors. Yes, I think of it as a negative, the whole 909HP, Hellephants, all the special edition hunting (as if any of us will get those. Those are going to big shots with salemans making a buck under the table. Im sure not all are that way but...in this economy, thats money on the table for some). But all these rumors will make ordering ABSOLUTE hell and uncertain. Also a BIG risk is the rumor that no Super Stocks will be made, and all will be JBs.

So what do you guys think?

A buddy of mine in our club knows his modern Mopar. He has a Demon, three or four Hellcats of various levels and trims. He just got a gorgous Cinnamon Stick 1320. He is telling me get it now, because well, I'm sure the dealer owner is giving him feedback I normally dont get.

I will try to make a poll about it, and hopefully this will be of use to others, as the pickings are slim for 22s on the lot.

Personally I wouldn't pay the 30K ADM.

But if it's that important to you to pay the 30K markup then do it.

At this point, I would expect ordering any more new cars may be very limited and not guaranteed delivery.

Check in with the few no markup dealers referenced here in the forums and see if you can get a no ADM
order going with high likelihood of delivery.

Option 1. Order now, take delivery at the start of winter then put it into hibernation and fantasize for 4-6 months while starring at it in the garage

Option 2. Order in January then you’ll have the complete season in front of you

Option 3. Cave on knuckle (mistake)

NOTE: If option 3 is chosen be sure to slap whoever ordered knuckle white! it’s only given a pass for drag packs

30k extra for the joy of your least favorite color.……..

If your willing to spend 30k over, why not get a last year, 23, in the color you want. For 30k over, should not be a problem. And then you get the car you want with the last year plaque. You wont have to order one if willing to spend that kind of coin.

One basic rule in the finance domain - it works the same in generic decision making: taking more uncertainty is always more rewarding (higher risk = higher return).

So if buying a 2022 provides you with more certainty (of being able to get one), be prepare for the risk of being regret if there is a "better" 2023 model, or finding out some hidden bugs in the 2022 unit you get, or less/no ADM, or even discount on 2023 models due to the upcoming recession etc.

Thank you all for the advice. I am starting to lean on passing up on this car, and whenever orders open up, then put one in, and some of you made a good point. If my order looks iffy, start looking for something on the lot, and my budget could be the same 130k now, but at least it will be a color I like, if not the one I want.

As far as why I didnt order a 22 earlier, I had some medical issues and the VA loves jerking you around, waisting your life away instead of actually treating.

30K over? If you are really wanting to get a SS in a certain color, just buy a more reasonable priced SS and get a wrap or have it repainted. Don't know what either of those two would cost, but it would be less than 30k.

I had a 2018 HCWB purchased in July 2020. It was white with the black hood. I only get that color as I only had to pay 56.5k with 4k miles. I initially wanted a 2019 REWB in PCP or Sublime. Guess what, every time I went to go drive it I wished it was the color that I wanted and quickly forgot the extra few thousand I saved by not getting what I wanted.

At least n my case, it was CHEAPER to not get the car that I wanted. In your case you are talking about spending A LOT more for a color you don't want.

I am kinda in the same situation in that I want a 23 REWB in either PCP or Sublime. If I can't get it in either one of those colors then it is a GT500 in either yellow or orange.

I can't tell you about which cost to go with because at the end of the day, I don't know which would cost more.

Color choice, I think white is really good for wraps.
Since you are a YT guy your R&R may be a good hood wrapp or any other kind of advertisement you would like or design. here are some pics of my husbands choice for his @Top Cat Hellcat Challenger. It had taken him several times going back and forth with the people who can make the design until he decided on what he liked.

30K is nuts.

Keep looking for others while you wait on the 23 order.
You'll find one that's the color you want, maybe a 19 or a 20 with low miles for way less than 130K!
