Mostly everywhere I look, the rotors I find are slotted and drilled. Drilled rotors rub me raw. And not the good kind of raw. So. I’m looking for some one piece rotors that are slotted only and not as ungodly high as Mopar one piece.

Any suggestions?

Hey @ArchGE

Had you noticed a lot of pressure needed to clean off and make smooth contact with the DBA rings once you changed over?

My Powerstop Extreme pads were bedded in fully twice across the process to make certain it was done well, washed the car Saturday morning and have a strip of contact rust still present on both sides. Have never seen such a response personally.

Hmm, haven’t seen that on mine. Was the rust where the pads make contact or at the edges? I went with StopTech pads if that makes any difference.

Light stripe of surface rust on rotor face about a third of the way down on both sides.

Not a hard thing to do to take the pads out and inspect them but again I have done some decent driving distances and the bedding process twice fully .... should be plenty flush pad to rotor in my view by now.

I would guess just a few more miles on them would solve the issue.

Those DBA's were pricy when I was shopping around, when I was looking it was hard to find slotted and not drilled, most that were slotted only were over $700 a rotor. Summit has several options from $100 per and up. I believe the two and three piece are better than the mono-bodies because of heat exchange and thermal expansion and contraction, from what a mechanic I was talking to told me.

Did both myself for around $800.

Nice, I don't remember what the price for the ones in the picture were when I was looking but it was definitely more than $800 for two fronts. At the time I was shopping it was December and prices were getting inflated with shortages so they may have come down. You just have to look for the best deals, found these also:

There are some decent slotted rotors for a fair price, and it has the DBA pictured above or very similar.

I’m still open to 2 piece if the price is right.

Curious about these rings, $750 for the pair
GiroDisc rotor rings
GiroDisc gets good reviews.
The version they make for Demon Performance are directional and have superior cooling veins.
This version for the OE hats look very similar, I doubt you could go wrong with them.

Yep, did mine a couple of years ago. I’m sure prices have increased a little since then. So hard to get anything lately it seems. I needed a couple of Redeye half shafts and couldn’t get them anywhere. Ended up having to get the pair from a salvage yard.

Slotted are stronger than drilled anyway. Solid are stronger than all.
