So tonight i took the new charger HC to the track for the first time. Full tank of shell 93 all else stock. Every pass I was running 107-115mph. Way low from what I’ve seen. And I noticed the car losing power big time from 5-6k rpm. Didn’t really see what was going on until I left and was on the highway.

the car is breaking up like it’s hitting rev limiter at 5k and up at wide open throttle. Boost drops to zero and it hesitates to shift. This happens in any mode, tc on or completely off and ac on or off. Happened all night and all the way home.
I decide to stop and gas up again because by then I was at a half and like to keep it full. And I popped the hood. No belt dust and pulled the air filter it was perfect. No idea.

back in the car after the fill up and it was back to normal. Running like a raped ape. Now it had been shut down between runs and at the end before I left it had sat for a while cooling. So any ideas? Chalk this up to quirky factory tune or what? No stored codes. I have no idea.
Car is 21 charger with 2400 miles completely stock.

My guess is the first tank wasn’t anywhere near 93 and the second was at or over 93…happens more often then you’d think especially lately…keep a pail of GT260 at hand to splash the tank for those occasions

well I went back out to check again and it’s still doing it now. Full tank of 93 from new station. No idea. And it’s only happening at the 4-5 wot shift which is at like 115mph. No way a dealer is going to want to try and reproduce that with or without me driving it.

Yeah outside of the octane thing data logging would be the way to find the glitch under your particular circumstance..I’d also keep en eye on your crank bolt for back out as well

Could be a bad PCM or maybe bad fuel pumps. It's completely impossible to tell without plugging it in and looking at it.

You should take it to the dealer. They don't need to drive it at speed to see the vehicle history in the data and to see how the components are working with a professional scanner.

To me, the best way to diagnose this is to get it on a dyno so it can be run up to speed while the engine is being monitored. The trick is finding a dyno with competent operators in your area.

Can an upshift from 4th at about 4800 be attempted.
You mean manually? Yes thats fine. Once I get to that 5500 mark, boost drops to zero and it sputters like its hitting a rev limiter. Like TC is on trying to stop wheel spin. But I tested this with TC completely off and its still stepping in.

Take it to the dealer, they should be able to see whatever code must be logged (if any), I'm surprised you haven't got an engine check light yet, dropping boost under those conditions is really suspicious, it's almost like your blow off valve is being activated (who knows why...).

Your vehicle is under warranty, it's the dealer's responsibility and Stellantis to figure out the best way to understand and replicate the issue, you already have the proof (videos) is up to them to fix it.

Also, I wouldn't surprised if you may be running some stale old fuel, try to go to a gas station that will sell more frequently premium gas, during winter time is more common to see lower sales of 93 octane gas due to less demand, people will store their toys during winter time and gas stations won't buy 93 unless their tanks are below tank level threshold.

If you can, try to burn as much fuel as you can from your car and then if you find fresh good quality 93 octane then just fill half tank (you don't want to risk having a full tank of crappy old fuel)

Good Luck!

Funny thing, the gas was from a brand new shell station here in town. Open for a month maybe. and it was fresh 93 according to the pump. Who knows.

Ok so went out ripping again today to gather more data. And now I cant get it to do it again. Its hitting hard and working correctly...???

Well, maybe after all it was a case of a bad fuel batch??? I get the part about being a new fuel station but you never know what it may go inside those tanks...

Not sure if you may have a Costco, Sam's or even BJ's but they usually have lot's of people refueling, so if you are a member (I actually prefer Costco) then try to use their Premium 93 Octane and see if the issue happens again or not, also with any test, try to make sure you don fill up completely the tank...

Keep posting those videos, I love watching that sucker revving up!!!

You say this is a new car, you haven't gotten past the break in period yet but are tracking it? From my limited understanding of the PCM it takes awhile for it to adjust to the engine and driver so that could be the reason it is acting in a random fashion.

Huh??? So 2400 miles isn’t past the break in period?? Go home you’re drunk. And leave your hellcat keys. Lol.
