Hi all,
been away from the forum for a while, but it’s coming up on 4 years for owning the Demon. Just started to think it’s probably time to replace the battery. What manufacturers have you had good luck with fit and power wise?
thanks in advance,
bob

I replaced mine in the Demon with the biggest one that fit from Advance Auto. Guess what the computer would not let the cool down mode work due to not enough reserve capacity. I replaced it with the correct Mopar battery and all of those cool down functions now work as they always did. FYI.

Why do you want to replace the battery?
I usually get 4-5 years out of a battery, even on a tender. In my experience, when they go they just drop off a cliff voltage wise. Don’t wanna be stuck somewhere when that happens.
guess I could cart around a jump start battery.

I don't have a Demon, but I bought a DieHard Platinum AGM Battery for my 2015 Hellcat. Group Size H7, 850 CCA. (Advanced Auto Parts). Only $210. Includes the all important vent hose. If you wait a few seconds on their website a popup will appear with a $10 off code.

I can understand staying ahead of a potential problem, like changing belts and hoses every 3-4 years. I have seen 3 year batteries crap out in 2 years (and the prorating makes it not worth using the warranty) and I have batteries that are now almost 10 years old and still going. Personally I wait until I get warning signs, it’s not like a belt or hose that suddenly and catastrophically fails. Hey, I’m cheap! :)

No, you are frugal and smart! Obviously, you're not a hedge fund manager then.

I probably have to change my battery on my 2019 HCWBRE in the near future. So far it is working well and I have the car stored in heated garage. When changing out the battery, does the car loose all of its memory on the electronics?

Cons
  • Sensitive to overcharging and undercharging
  • Reduced charging capacity over time
  • Typically higher price tag
AGM Battery FAQs

Manufacturers such as Optima and Interstate suggest that AGM batteries could last two to three times longer than traditional flooded lead-acid batteries. Traditional batteries should typically be replaced every three to five years, depending on a range of factors such as driving environment, driving conditions, and driving habits.

I hate fake news..........

A timely post. Suddenly I have been having problems starting my Demon. I jump it and it starts right up but it just doesn't seem to hold a charge. Thanks for all the advice.

No it should not but the Uconnect can be a little quirky until the next day some times.

Once a wet cell battery is severely discharged it can be permanently damaged and must be replaced. You must keep the battery either on a tender or disconnected and can't let the car pull these batteries down to where you need a jump. So you probably need a battery.
