I get this is a forum for Hellcat ICE vehicles. Looks likes it's going to stay that way. If the word Hellcat means something special to anyone then the name is going to be recycled. The nameplate Mustang Mach E conjures up a sleek and powerful sports car. It's basically just an EV SUV. If Stellantis can make an extra dollar by sticking a Hellcat Logo on the side of a faster version of the Daytona EV then I'm sure they won't hesitate. Popular nameplates have been recycled into garbage in the past. The mighty 1978 Dodge Challenger was a re-badged 4 cylinder Mitsubishi with 100 HP. I predict a Hellcat EV within 5 years. You can get attached to the technology but the name will be bastardized just like any other model name IMO. Marketing 101.

They replaced the Hellcat name with Banshee.

"The all-new Charger Daytona SRT Concept electric vehicle is the first Dodge to carry the Banshee logo and name. Dodge hopes to make this screaming, horned demon a symbol of eMuscle performance: ‘Banshee’ aims to be the ‘Hellcat’ of EVs."

You are kidding, right?
If you have to ask that then I don't even know what to tell you. Anyway, I'm over all this. The new forum is cool and there are some people like myself looking for more info and anticipating the release. I have a dealership working with me on a potential purchase provided they get an allocation. So all is good. I'll be on the other sub-forums. Enjoy your day.

Dodge knows it can't call an electric vehicle a hellcat they would never live it down and they would never take a chance on alienate it's only customer base too early. It doesn't have a choice but to go electric it can't buy credits anymore from Tesla. Dodge is finished, through, Done, dead as we know them now. they cannot survive on their own they cannot survive without stellantis money just like they couldn't survive without FCA money or Daimler money. Sergio offered to merge with General Motors. GM rightfully turned them down as the only thing they wanted was the ram brand.

As others have said Dodge is A-day late and dollar short in the EV game. they will play for a while. how long they are able to play will be dictated by stellantis who hopefully will put the final nail in the coffin. Sergio saw the value in Dodge muscle and allow them to play as long as they sold however the cost of doing business has gone up too much and stellantis has dictated that carbon credits are no longer an option. That and the socialist agenda in Washington DC right now is too much to fight.

Don't get me wrong I'm a proud hellcat owner but I'm not brand loyal. I own GM, Dodge and Ford muscle but the dodge we know in its current form is dead we just need to accept it. Tim knows this. He was able to Pioneer some great things with this platform. it was the final hurrah the last hurrah end of the line and he knew it when he took on the project.

He knew it was going to be difficult to win over current/former hellcat owners but I don't think he or stellantis anticipated the massive amount of pushback they got. resistance, outright defiance is more like it.
