Hey y’all, new member here. Just wanted to say hello. My current build is a redeye engine and tranny placed into a 2019 Scatpack. The Mf runs and I love it lol. If y’all got any questions about the build and the bs that came with it, I’m more than happy to answer them.

It’s a “redeye” charger lol. And its a full conversion but, I’m Keeping the 392 badges. Sadly I’m in between crossroads, do I remove the fog lights or keep them on.

Welcome to the Forum from beautiful Bucks County Pa.

I am always amazed at the "Swap Builds"
There are so many happening now, if you have time it would be great if you could start a build thread. I know there are a couple of other threads with guys asking questions.

Congrats and Enjoy All the Fasst Fun!

Pictures or it never happened! Looking forward to hearing more details about your build. I’m also from California, and was considering this, but how do we get past the eventual smog check?
Here you go. I’m going to take Linda’s advice and start a build thread to keep everything organized.

the smog machine doesn't know what the engine is, it only has to pass the test..
Yes, but how would the vehicle pass the visual inspection? The 6.4 has no supercharger, which is what the inspector would expect based on the VIN. Without a CARB exemption number, which is required for engine mods, the vehicle would fail the visual inspection. Sadly, this is why many CA auto enthusiasts are stuck with only CARB approved parts...quite frustrating.

Bay Area eh?.. I am from there--20+ years--a great run is early Sundays--I used to drop out of the Berkeley Hills at 6:15 a.m., shoot across the Bay Bridge--blast through Yerba Buena/Treasure Island at 140 -150, jump off at the downtown Fremont exit--jump over to California Street and roll up and all the way out to the Upper Great Highway--enjoy the view at Ocean Beach driving by, cut across to the 280--roar through the Daly City tunnel at 120-130--do the long and beautiful southbound 280 all the way through Woodside and down to San Jose--keep the 280 all the way to the 680 and then hit it to Fremont, Sunol, Pleasanton--blast up to Walnut creek and take the 24 back to Berkeley and up the hills to my home above the Caldecott Tunnel. Those runs were with a 427SC Cobra (pics enclosed)--wakes up SF at 6:30 in the a.m.!!
Occasionally I would go later in the day and stop at Alice's up on Skyline outside of Woodside--it's a bike mecca--all the bikers would come over to ask and see the 427.. The Bay Area is beautiful but the politics stink--but it is a great for for driving at the right times!
For real kicks I used to take my 460 stroked Custom 500 (inspired by Gator McCluskey) up Shattuck Blvd in Berkeley on Sundays just to irritate the old hippies and protesters--that car was a total custom build and shook the ground.. Pics enclosed.

to BAY650: Here is the Bullitt Clone I built--nut and bolt build--I tried to buy the original Bullitt car15 years ago--but you know how that turned out.. This Car was way better when done.

Ford Motorsports 392 Circle Track Crate
Tremec 5 speed
Currie Industries 3:50
Custom unibody rails
Interior roll bar by Meier Racing (you had to look twice)
Built in a BMW dealership over a year

Brought the donor car in from Canada through NAFTA via Oakland Port--this car was very fast--just a click behind the Cobra. It was always a hit going down Lombard or up at Alice's in Woodside.

Bro! That’s a dream build (the cobra) right there. I’ve yet to find the time to sit down and see how much it would cost to own one. And to add to your other comment. I use/still do, drive down 280, and exit onto woodside and drive down cañada road along 280 in the afternoon just to clear my head and that was fun. Sadly with 101 being the shitty freeway it is, i avoid it at all cost. I’ll take 280 and then onto 92, if I need to get from the peninsula to the east bay.

yeah the 280 is a killer road.. I have many a story about the 92.. I used to drive it daily.
Here's one for you--One day I went to San Bruno from Fremont around 11;00 a.m.--I'm in a C63 which is just a sledge hammer--that morning there was NO ONE at the west bound toll--I paid, rolled out and promptly put it on 100 and was cruising.. As you know the Dumbarton is a really long bridge--I'm rolling along at 100 and not looking back--about 3/4 of the way across a CHP Black and White fender appears in my passenger door window--I looked over and the Officer and he wagged his finer back and forth at me... VERY KOOL.. I slowed, he went on.. the significance of that, is he was nearly flat out--those CHP units fully loaded will only run about 105-110 max.. CHP guys are pretty kool--it's local Cops on Motorcycles you have to be wary of..

Oh do I have my story about 92. Haha, yeah them CHP rookies are the ones that get you. I was at the outlet center of 92 before dumberton bridge, and I headed to 101 from the 92, I think I hit low 105-110 (during start of covid) as very few cars where on the road. While on 101 passing SFO before grand avenue. I see a CHP gunning it. Mind you after I got on 101 I was going the speed limit. Well I exit off 101, and he catches up to me on the red light of the ramp. And lights me up. Lol, he ended up giving me a ticket because he saw me pass and said he visually saw me hit above 100. Lol didn’t want to fight with him on the side of the road at 3am, so I just asked him for the ticket. Fun time.

I don't recommend the Cobras unless you are already deaf, have a lot of money and only you only drive 'em 3-4 times a year. Mine was a perfect car--bought it out of Boise Idaho from an Exec who ran a potato company--took me 2 years to buy it from the guy--he originally put in Hemmings and hung a huge price on it--no one bit, so I kept trying.. Finally one day I went to my home in Black Hawk at noon, drank 2 beers and called the guy up and said Stan I'm going to buy the Cobra today--he hung up on me as we had talked several times over 2 years--I called back and we stayed on the phone this time--finally we made a deal. I flew up and trucked it back to SF--well, I couldn't wait to drive it, so I pulled into Sacto and dropped the truck and trailer and drove it in from Sacto--it was a Sunday morning and I need fuel immediately after taking it off the trailer, I exited just south of Elk Grove on the 5 , I was running on fumes.. Unbelievable--the station had CHP everywhere trolling the Hells Angels who had the gas station buried in Bikers--I needed gas--so I rolled up, got a pump and of course was surrounded by the Angels--so when they ask questions you answer--and of course they wanted to see the 427.. finally I pulled out--the bikers were all yelling HIT IT Man !! CHP were sitting right at the on ramps watching--I rolled up and shouted over the exhaust, "do you mind if I hit it for these guys?" The CHP guy yelled back--"what are we gonna do--we're on them"! So I nailed it and the car didn't disappoint--they were all waving and shaking their fists.. 120 coming off the ramp. The car was just a stand out.
The only things I ever did to the car were two things--I put MSD with a 6,500 chip in it and I made custom header gaskets by hand out of commercial FE truck gaskets and I doubled them--those FE engines on Cobras with the side pipes are hell on gaskets--never had another issue--I drove the car 3-4 times a year for 13 years--sold it--some one in NY got a great car.
