I was looking on e-bay for the Challenger Hellcats. One says new, but has 500 miles, one says untitled, but has 200 miles on it. One says used already with ~200 miles on it!!!
What is going on? Are dealers taking the car and beating the crap out of it and then trying to pass it off as new?? The prices are way over MSRP - I hope no suckers will buy them.
How many miles should I expect on a new car?

Sounds like dealers have been having some fun, using the Cats like Demos. You should expect between 2 and 15 miles on the odometer on a "new" Hellcat.

My brother was telling me that one of his colleagues was able to test drive a Hellcat a couple of weeks ago.... Shocked that a dealer would allow that unless they plan to use it as a demo car.

He had to verify funds to be able to afford the car, but still shocked they allowed a test drive.

Mine had 30 miles on it , an rep from srt and the owner took it down the enterstat to the next exit and back. Look in the performance Pages it should tell you the speed and max g forces and a lot of cool stuff

My car had 2 miles off of the truck, which is expected with the end of line rolling road tests and moving it around for transport. Had around 10 miles on it after we did the PDI and first fill up of gas.

i actually reported the guy w/ 500 miles on his who is claiming its new

he is not a dodge dealer and 500 miles doesnt= a new car

glad to see its not selling either

if he asked MSRP he'd sell it today
If he's not a Dodge dealer he can't sell as new, its used. The title would be in his name or used dealer name, still a used car. It really doesn't matter much

I think we will see this happen more and more as people realize they cannot afford the payment. I put nothing down, have a good interest rate, by the time I was done with extras, my payment is $1,000 a month. I think many will find that daunting after a while, not me. I will live in my car before it goes anywhere!!!:D

I think you are right. Often times, that new car smell coupled with the excitement of a swanky fast new car can cloud judgment, and after several months, it just takes one illness or termite infestation or big veterinarian bill or lost job or a leaky roof or any number of other setbacks, to make a buyer realize that living that close to the 'red', financially, can spell disaster with just one or two unforeseen setbacks, and a grand a month for a short period is one thing, but doing it month in, month out, for years on end, is a big commitment that is more than many folks will be able to successfully complete. I soul searched, long and hard, and crunched the numbers as it were, to confirm that I am 'ready', but that doesn't mean it's not intimidating. I feel confident I'll be able to endure the expense, long term, but I know it won't be easy; But certainly WORTH IT!
