Hi everyone. I'm a long time Mopar guy (45 years or so). Back in the day had a Hemi Satellite and a Superbird. Raced a Duster with a 426 Max Wedge. Now I have three 1973 Imperials and a Grand Caravan.
I've been nosing around at buying a Hellcat for a few years now. Was first looking for a used one and was warned off 2015-2016 models because of alleged issues with the supercharger. I might have pulled the trigger a year ago but FCA dumped Plum Crazy and Limelight (or whatever they call them now) which pissed me off. And now I find I can't order a manual transmission (I read the thread here about the issue).
In the meantime I ordered a "Brand X". First time I bought a car from the General. When Chrysler's cars really sucked in the late 80's and early '90's I had a pair of Ford Taurus SHOs. For the time those were great cars. Then I was a truck guy with a Ram 2500 with a V-10 followed by a Ram 1500 with a 6 cylinder and a stick. Then I've been a mini van guy (yep, it's true - they are a VERY practical work vehicle and much less costly to operate than a truck).
So I plan to take advantage of the C8 shortage out there and sell it and then order a Hellcat once the transmission issue is sorted out. This is one advantage of being a geezer: I am never in a hurry!
That's me on the right. Santa's sled.
Cheers

p.s. I live not far from the Hellcat plant in Brampton Ontario, and on my way home yesterday I saw an Octane Red Charger Hellcat on the car carrier. Maybe it's your car on the way.
