Went to the Wed. street night. I was the first car to go into the staging lanes when they opened. The Shelby Mustang was right behind me.
When I got out to put my helmet on, the Shelby is backing up and motioning the cars in the other lane to back up. He pulls into the left lane beside me.
We will be the first 2 cars to go down now. He is in the left lane I am in the right. With in 15 seconds they move us up.Never spoke to him.I figure he is thinking
this overweight 4 door Charger will be no problem. I am sure he was very much surprised! I was not fully ready when I bumped into the second light yellows came down quick and I did leave early. Not sure I went WOT right away. The 60 foot was a little soft. This run sure made my night!!

Lost ? No not in this situation. Race car class in the point series yes. The Shelby thought he would be faster he was not. He was slower by over a half
a second. Do you think he thought he won the race?? He never came back to talk.I did look for him later on in the night. It was a very busy night. I never found him.
I wanted to see if he was stock? Certainly good numbers for him if he was.

The stockish GT500's we have seen run here in Houston run 10.70-10.80 on a good tire with a good driver.

You're right, that he lost because of the red light, but if Adrenaline Rush would've caught the light, the Mustang would've lost. The only way that the GT500 won was because of the red light and the GT500 knew it and that why you couldn't find him. He went home to order a tune for his Stang!

What tires are you running? That's a pretty respectable 60' time if you're on street tires.

Geese, another non HC owner... Why is it that the non-HC owners always have infinite derogatory comments though they most likely have never driven one or even raced!!! And they are always “in the market” though having nothing good to say about HC’s. This is a non-RE Charger with minimal mods seriously encroaching into SS territory, and morons have nothing better to do than pick on absolute nonsense such as RT!!! Haven't lived in "Mom's basement since 1982, moved across country to go to school, which I Paid for, in my 70 Charger again that I paid for and rebuilt myself, when I was 17.
