I just picked up a 2021 Charger Redeye that I had ordered. I traded a 2018 Charger Hellcat for it, and I also own a 2020 Challenger Redeye. Both the 2018 and the 2020 came with three keys, two red and one black. The new 2021 Charger Redeye only came with two red keys, no black key. My wife uses the black key. The dealer is telling me that Dodge no longer supplies a black key. Has anyone else purchased a 2021 and not received a black key?

I picked up my 21 redeye in November and it came with one red key and one black key. I asked for another red key and the dealer gave me another one for free. So I have two red keys and one black key with mine.

In the very beginning of your Owner's Manual it tells you the number of keys you should receive and as far as I know, it is still 2 reds and 1 black as it always been. So if that's what it says in your manual, your dealer owes you another key.

EDIT: And please delete all those other threads you started.

When I bought my used HC, the dealer tried to hold back the red key.

They claimed they didn't have it. Then I said I wanted another $200 off the price of the car to have a dealer make one.
He said no and I said, "Well that's a problem then. The car will not have full performance without it".

Then 30 minutes later he calls and said they found it.

When I was signing papers, another salesman asked my sales guy about giving me both keys, and he said "It's ok,
he's paying cash". I don't think they knew I was listening. So I think they try to pull that in case the car needs to be repo'ed.

Just another shitty thing car dealers pull that makes us hate them so much.

I ordered my 2021 Challenger Redeye on 04-30-21 and it was delivered on 07-06-21 with two (2) red keys along with one (1) black key. The only time I ever used the black key was to verify the security update was completed for all the FOB's

Unless the dealer is holding the note (which he wasn't) why would the dealer care? Once the finance company pays him it's the finance company's problem, not his. The dealer isn't going to repo the car. The finance company, on the other hand...

Google reviews! They definitely don’t want to start selling vehicles missing key fobs. Whether intentional or not. That’s bad business.

I've heard some dealers get a monthly check for their cut of the all the interest they've steered to the bank or finance company, not sure if that's true or not.

Still no reason to hold back a key, that would be outrageous and borderline criminal.

Yes, dealers usually quote quote a slightly higher interest rate than the finance company quotes. The difference is theirs. The interest rate, like every thing else, is negotiable.

Both red keys were missing when I finished my sign and drive at the dealer. Salesman has ordered them overnighted and promised a free tank of gas for the inconvenience.
If you do not get the keys re-coded at A DIFFERENT DEALER, count on your car being stolen.

I marvel at how blithe people are. Supposing you had a daughter. Would you think it was just a coincidence that the same van followed her home from school every day for a week, as long as the van was owned by some car dealership?

Have you all not read about the guy on this forum who had his car stolen while AT a dealership being serviced?

My car was parked in an inaccessible, behind-security-guard secure parking (but visible from the street) when I found both doors unlocked and the trunk popped. I do not park it there anymore.

But to get a car straight from a dealer who claims the keys were "lost?" I would not deal with that dealer again, and also do some research on a GPS tracker that randomly sends a position report every five minutes or so (so it cannot be found by using a scanner and turning the car on and off.)
