New classification and spec number on the SRT Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.

It's now API SP and the MS is MS-A0921.

I've used the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-40 when it's been on sale but I'm not going to pay $8 per quart for it. I'll use the Mobil 1 0w-40 that I can get for about $5 per quart regular price at Walmart.

Where's the PP 0W40??

Brand is far less important than simply doing regular, frequent changes. They all have the exact same base stock--it's all mixed together before they add their specific additive recipe--and there's only about 4-5 additive suppliers.

If the store is out of Mobile 1 I use Kirkland Signature from Sams club...its made by Wix and is the same as the penzoil

I didn’t know better so I’ve had Walmart doing my oil changes with Mobil 1 on my 2015 Hellcat for most of its 112K miles. No issues. Think I might go that route on my Redeye. Walmart always treats my car way better than a dealer does 😉

Kirkland is made by Warren. Penzoil makes their own.

I'm assuming it's 0w-40 grade? I've been trying to find the Kirkland Signature oil on the Sam's club website. No luck. Please post a link.

It is amazing, but easily explained. The rise of engine oil discussion threads is closely correlated with the dissolution of the Unification Church founded by Sun Myung Moon. Many adherents and followers of the Unification Church were successfully de-programmed and returned to normal life. Those that could not be de-programmed became Amsoil dealers.

I think the “carbon neutral” statement on the bottle is bigger news than the spec. Anyway, I’ve only put the SRT oil in my car. 60k miles and lots of thrashing and different supercharger setups and the car runs engine runs great. Besides the fact that it’s leaking. Crap rear main seal and oil pan gasket. Next on the list

Kirkland is made by Warren. Penzoil makes their own.

It's made by Wix, its the oil they use to test all of their oil filters, including the SRT ones they build for dodge. And its the exact same as Penzoil without the price
