So to make it short and sweet, I’ve just got a new 2015 Hellcat, manual, and it’s so much different than any stick I’ve drove. I was just wanting some pointers of when the clutch bites when you take off. I can shift gears pretty fluidly, but I don’t wanna **** up the clutch off the start and I’ve been insecure to try to drive recently. Any help is much appreciated.

First gear is really tall on these cars. The clutch uptake engages pretty early. Sooner than most of my other sticks. Just keep driving it and you will get used to it. Not sure how many miles are on it but if it was babied and or has low miles the clutch should be in pretty good shape. They're pretty stout from the factory. If the car is stock and you just want to get across an intersection quickly launch at about 2500-3000 RPM and feather gently into it otherwise you'll probably spin the tires. If you really want to get down the road start shopping for some top tier sticky rubber. Find a secluded place with a fairly clean surface and practice your launching. Sport mode will spin the most. Street traction and Street suspension setting will get let the ass end squat and give the least amount of spin when going for a launch. Good Luck bud welcome to the club and good choice with the manual. Extremely satisfying car to drive when pulling your own gears.

I really appreciate it, 50k miles on it, but still new to me. I didn’t expect to get a cat when I walked in but they said they could put me in one, so I was on it. I’m not really wanting to push it right now— as I’m trying to get used to how it feels. I did notice the clutch was unlike anything I’ve been in before, that’s why I’ve been real cautious. I wanna be able to get off smooth before anything right now.

Same model year as yours. Rear is the worst. I have to reengage 1st gear more times than not or roll forward a few feet to get rear gear to bite. I'm upgrading to a Barton shifter next year.

The barton is well worth the money and makes driving the m6 more enjoyable.
True but the Barton is not all joy. Shift effort/force is much higher, but it definitely feels appropriate for the HP. And, you no longer wonder if you are in the right gear! I have vids of the linkage before and after and it is amazing how loose and sloppy the OEM is. If I was not so old and tired (i.e. lazy), I'd learn youtube and post them!

An aftermarket shifter, and removing the CDV (Clutch Delay Valve) are highly recommended. a 3.90 rear diff also helps.
