Obviously the threats from the manufacturers to dealers overcharging are nothing but toothless publicity and the dealers stance is to just ride it out together.
Remember the contract between Ford and Ford GT buyers whereby the buyers could not re sell their cars for a certain length of time after obtaining it? It did not take long for that to fall by the wayside.

The manufacturers have no say what a dealer retail their cars for per the dealer agreement. What Ford is chirping about is charging crazy money to put people on waiting lists- taking thousands for nothing basically.
ADM is a big part of life now. The beauty of capitalism you can sell your car for any price you want and for the buyer you can walk or buy.

Through work I'm eligible for FCA affiliate rewards program which gets me anything not on the excluded list for either invoice or close to it. I was looking to order a 21 or 22 REWB and nearly every dealership flat lied to me and told me redeyes were not eligible. I went on the FCA affiliate website and found that the ONLY challenger that was on the excluded list was the demon. When presented with this information the sales managers from a couple of the bigtime liar dealerships stuck to the lie, most of the dealerships just started drooling on themselves backpedaling saying well....we misspoke, it is eligible but we are choosing not to honor it.
IMHO this is complete BS and shouldn't even be an option. I understand we are in strange times but I bought both a 2016 Yukon XL Denali and a 2021 3500 Silverado High Country through GMs version of the affiliate program and the dealers didn't bat an eye. Who knows, maybe they would now.

In the end I told them all to pound sand and bought a '20 REWB challenger with less than 2500 miles on it.

They just don’t want to sell one at that price point. I ordered my 22 RENB at supplier pricing. You have to find a different dealer to honor the pricing.
