No more stock orders?

I just had a dealer email me and say "Effective today, Chrysler won’t be scheduling stock orders for Charger and Challenger Hellcats. They must be sold orders to be scheduled for production." Any truth to that ResumeSpeed?

I ordered my Charger HC Saturday and got my VON today. When I tried to pay for it Saturday my dealer told me not to worry until the car showed up. He said all I do is give him the colors and we wait. Not sure what all that means, but I guess I am waiting...
The dealer doesn't have an invoice yet, about all he could do would be to take money down on the car. If your dealer is honest you should be in good shape. With a VON and status of BX you are about where you should be at this point. Now the waiting game begins. Good luck, when you get a VIN you are much more safe to see the car someday.

I feel very confident with my Dealer and everything I have been reading just confirms it even more that I am dealing with some good guys. I have been working with them for years and they do all the work on my current Charger and I have been nothing but happy with their work and customer service. Thanks for the luck and info...looks like I will need it. I guess the good news I want it and can afford to wait for it.

Welcome to the site!!! Hoping your stay is enjoyable and fruitful. Just like me it has not cost us a cent. Not knowing when we get our cars is the agonizing part of the whole process. Stick it out make friends here and enjoy yourself while waiting for your cat.

One more question the dealer told me it was a positive order waiting to flip to build status. That I had nothing to worry about. Do I believe him?
Suffice to say Dodge employees are reading this and other forums on a daily basis. I work for a large company and they have people that are dedicated to monitoring and responding to all social media on a hourly/daily basis. Think about it, how else can a company get an accurate read from the "boots on the ground" if they don't hear directly from those that use their products.

Thanks I really like my dealer. He has been really good to me. Hope the company stays true to their promise too him.

When your dealer actually placed the order he should print for you a "Priced Order Conformation" POC. On the POC you should show a VON, that is the start of the process. Also on the POC you should see a Status, BA is the first, really meaning only that the computer got it. BX is the next, and that means almost nothing as well, other than the dealer ordered it correctly. Then we wait for status of D and D1, that actually means good news. It is a waiting game, for some, many months.

Why would you question the dealer, they wouldn't lie would they...............................................................LOL

Don't mind waiting just as long as I get my car. :)

Oh so when they said that in the very beginning they didn't really mean it but now they do? We can hope I guess.

I heard the same thing, I hope it is true. It would be nice to hear from RS.
I just placed an order today for a Sublime Challenger today through a GM of a local dealer that is in our Viper Owner's Association at MSRP. I was going to wait and buy one once they are sitting on the lots, but figured that they will be harder to come by once Spring / Summer hits. No money down and MSRP.

He needed all my information, name, address, email and phone number for the order to go through... Got my VON instantly.

Dealer feels that I'll get it by April, I'm not that optimistic... but I'm in no rush. April would work since that's my birth month.

EVERY dealer out there is "the largest Dodge dealer in the state/region/country" Of the ~15-20 dealers I spoke to around Houston, about 10 of them were the "largest dealer in the city" according to themselves.
haha this is so true... all the houston dealers told me the same thing... and they all want crazy money for ordering a cat

Thanks for this bit of info, looks like mine is at bx , which means at least it was ordered correctly
We are playing the waiting game For how long --Anybodys guess

I don't think anyone knows how long. I don't know if Canada is a whole lot different that the states or not. Some have been in BX for many months, it seems there is not a way to determine the wait for sure. Get you VON listed here and wait. Enjoy the "ride" until the real ride comes, then throw a party.
I really hope Dodge decided to do this because of all the over-pricing going on with dealers….but I somehow doubt it. Good news for those that have one on order - maybe.

EDIT : And to Dr. Buick - I was just emailed and told Sue doesn't work there anymore? I inquired about a Sublime Hellcat that suddenly showed up again on the dealer website, but it does say "in transit"…I hope they're not throwing people's orders up for grabs to see if they can get more and selling orders out from other people….can they even do that?

All cars automatically go onto the dealer website, doesn't mean anything bad is going on.
