So I take the 2014 Challenger in for State Inspection and oil change. I have always used the White SRT Filter and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in all three of our cars. So the service advisor informs me that they are out of stock on White SRT Filters and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. So I had to settle for MOPAR oil and the Regular MOPAR filter on the Challenger as the Service Tech had already started on my car. Here is my real issue... The Hellcat is due for its 6 months service next week. I have both the service contract and extended warranty on the Hellcat so I need to have my dealer perform the maintenance. I have already called Dodge Customer Care and I have a case number already. I am waiting for a call back on Monday on what the resolution will be.

Case number for the oil or the filter?

They probably won't care about the filter as it's not a Hellcat filter, when they look up the correct filter for a Hellcat, the 899 will come up not the 041.

On the oil, there used to be a Mopar 0W-40 MS-12633 oil but haven't seen it in a few years. What oil did they use? Was it really a Mopar 0W-40?

Case Number 82447638
I will have to go out and look at my receipt to see if they had the PN's on my receipt. Like I said not really that concerned about the 14 Challenger as it is long out of warranty, my concern is for the Hellcat. Thanks for the info!

You know, the factory puts the 899 filter on these cars...
Both 899 and 041 work :). With the 041 out of stock, the exact same filter is the WIX 57063; just without the SRT logo.

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Full Synthetic 0W-40 Motor Oil (1 Quart, Case of 6) is available on Amazon

So many threads about the 041 oil filter versus 899 oil filter. However opening up a case about not having a oil filter that is not the correct part # oil filter for your car is the new level. The oil filter for Hellcats is 899.

The 041 oil filter in my opinion is a better oil filter than the 899.
Virtually everybody in the country is out of the 041 oil filter nobody has them, some websites say they have them in stock but when you call them, we don't have them but we'll have them next week.
Like Ray said the WIX 57063 is the exact same as the 041 filter with different print on the outside.

On what do base this assertion?
I specifically said in my opinion.
A assertion is actually different than a opinion, they have two different meanings.
However the reasons I feel the 041 is a better filter than the 899.
The 041 has a higher pressure rating, flows more g.p.m., has a better micron rating, has a better pressure bypass system, thicker case, better quality seals.
They are a few comparisons between the 2 filters around, I think the video in this thread is from S.W. motors comparing them.
Once again, it's just my opinion.
Bob's the oil guy is a very good resource for oils and filters.
And I know it's been stated here a couple of times, I'll say it again the Wix filter and the 041 are the exact same filter.

so thanks everyone for the feedback. if my dealer has the 899 in stock and that will keep my warranty intact along with whatever 0w40 they have in the parts room I guess I'm good...
Walmart usually has the 899 filters for around $6-8 and Mobil 1 0w-40 works well as an alternative to Pennzoil. It was being used by the dealership prior to the Pennzoil switch.

Thanks but as I stated in the start of this email I purchased the Service Contract for my Hellcat along with the 7-year warranty. So whatever Dodge Cares tells me to do and I have clear communication from Customer Care to my dealer I am good with it...
