Alright the smoke has cleared.
We all know the future direction Dodge SRT is going.
It’s been a pleasure to have been part of the brand since 2009.
I have had 3 SRT Jeeps, 2 Durango SRT and 3 SRT Challengers.
I pushed the limits with the 2009 SRT and have to say for a 4500 lb car running 9.0s et at over 150 mph on little tires 28x10 drag radials is Badd Azz.
It’s now a new era. I have accepted it in 2021. I purchased my first 2021 ZL1. Now I am on my second 2022 ZL1. I knew the ride was over for SRT.
The 2018 Demon was the Swan Song for SRT. Tim K said it in 2017.
It appears Chevrolet will continue with performance past 2024. Ford who knows? But it’s been enjoyable for me.
I suggest you muscle car junkies move ahead and enjoy the moment.
Go drive the Damn Car. I have over 10K miles on my Demon.
I admit I drive the ZL1 more. It’s Amazing how fast quick and enjoyable it is.
Don’t let Tim K ruin your Party.
Crash the damn Party !

The party may finally be over and I agree with most of what you said but there is nothing wrong keeping your cars extra nice while enjoying them carefully. Nor is there anything wrong with "drive it like you stole it". Everyone needs to do what is best for them. Friends who told me to drive my cars like I stole them, now have faded Polaroids and are priced out of the market with so many cars gone. Instead I have these and will unto my death, in addition to my 2 modern Challengers. It's not always about the money, why someone cherishes a car. Hopefully I haven't offended anyone with my perspective.

Yes, but some people need other people to do what they do in order to validate their feelings.

i dont have a problem with driving "old" cars, I have been and still doing that- my "new" car is my 2016 hellcat. But, "they" wont let you drive them for long, thats the point.

I’m really bummed and this last Dodge reveal solidified it for me. The car industry is heading in a direction that I personally hate and fear that finding a truly “fun”, driver focused, brand new car will be difficult unless you are willing to drop a mortgage on something. I do well for myself but I by no means consider myself anywhere close to rich. I have a dark view on the new vehicles of the next decade and beyond and how little they will likely appeal to me.

My passion is for bad ass cars that look menacing, shake the ******* ground, and make you feel like a boss cruising around in them and smoking the tires at any light of your choosing. Are those days soon to be a distant memory for brand new, affordable vehicles? It’s beginning to feel that way more and more after each big reveal I see as every manufacturer is just trying to stay relevant and in the “space race” as Tim K would say.

Let the impending recession be a buying opportunity for a true muscle car then. The old cars have sema protecting them. And I get thumbs up everywhere I go.

There will always be plenty of used cars (Hellcats, ZL1 and a few other cars I like) with low miles, excellent condition, etc… So, Idc about where the new car market is heading

With that being said lol,
Hopefully and knock on wood, I won’t need to buy another car for awhile though.
