Has anyone tried to connect a diagnostic tool to a OBDII bypass like what ZAutomotive sells and bypass the secure path gateway? I’m having a heck of a time getting my SnpaOn Modis tool to connect to the ‘18 HC. I have the tool registered in my name, on a WIFI network, and have the tool registered to an independent registry so it is suppose to establish the “secure path gateway” but it doesn’t.

My SnapOn guy can’t figure it our either.

Anyone have success or or have tips on making this thing connect to the car?

Thanks,

Z-Automotive double bypass. It can be installed in the trunk or the Pass kick panel. I wired mine in the trunk and extended the power and ground wires so the plug in connector nestles in the rear seat delete tray. It is a bypass so anything should work at that point. It physically plugs into the Can bus on the other side of the gateway.

540 Fan any updates on getting this to work?
Yes, installed a ZAutomotive bypass and my SnapOn Solis Legend 20.2 will communicate with the vehicle. It won’t do an automatic vin ID so you have to manually enter make, year, engine info. Upon start up, I get an error that it can’t activate the Secure Gateway but then all the functions are available. So it works!.

I even have the features available that would let me write mileage to a new PCM.

Still going to work with SnapOn to get it to communicate correctly through the main OBDII port.

BTW, I like the Tazer and line lock programmed to an Aux button!
