Hey all, I just purchased a 2021 Super Stock. I can’t find the recommended Pennzoil 0w40 full synthetic anywhere. Even my Dodge dealer where I bought the car is out and can’t get it right now. I ordered it from a local store, but when it came in, its from 2017 stock. Not trying to be to picky, but I’m thinking of going with Mobil 1 equivalent. Any agree, or other suggestions? Thanks...

No, everyone has their preferred oil and AMSOIL is the only one that can show data to support, which is why after substantial research, I chose Amsoil.

PS mpg at 30mph dropped about 1mpg when I changed oil and put in Mobil 1 instead of Amsoil, I am unenthused to report, and 1-2mpg on the freeway at around 60.

Go with Amsoil, it's a much better oil.

Did you ask your Dodge dealer how long it would take to get the Pennzoil in? Does the dealer carry the Mopar labeled Pennzoil equivalent?

Nothing wrong with oil from 2017 -- in a sealed jug/bottle -- and as long as it is an oil recognized by Dodge suitable for use in your car's engine.

Mobil 1 is not recognized as a suitable oil for your new car's engine. Because the car/engine is new I think you want to weigh the risks of using a non-approved oil and how this could possibly effect the warranty on the car, and specifically the engine.

is Amsoil considered in spec by Dodge?
No it is not that I can see.

If someone can show where Amsoil meets MS-12633 then please show it in writing. The only thing I have seen is where Amsoil says to "use" a certain oil where MS-12633 is recommended and that is not the same thing.

That's what I'm talking about...

It says to USE this oil for the following specs and is that the same thing as saying this oil MEETS this spec? I don't think it is.

If Amsoil is showing the application certs that they are used in, then they meet Dodge/Chrysler certs. It's the same thing, just different language.
