A lot of guys on here say under no circumstance change it under 6000 miles but would it matter if you went to the track on the wknds? I’d think that would make a difference. 🤷🏽‍♂️ ……Also I was thinking of just doing a quickie and dropping the oil and leaving the filter and doing it every other. Just to get a quick flush of the oil and getting some fresh stuff in there. I usually change it every 2k miles so 4K on a filter would t be the end of the world. Let’s hear everyones $.02

You can see that even w pup that the oil pressure slightly decreases at a given temp and a given rpm over time

Dunno which oil you run but if it’s not gonna break the bank go for it

I change mine every 4 or 5k

If yer not gonna change the filter at least empty and refill yeah?

I haven't seen "under no circumstances change it under 6,000 miles", is this when you are tracking? Not sure why that would affect the cars engine.

I always change the filter but I run 6K before change, it's not a big dollar item so why not replace it when you change the oil?

Yeah maybe just drain it and refill it after 2K and then switch the filter after four

Last time I found a good deal on 2 six packs online but I’m over the the whole pup thing

If I’m gonna get raped might as well run something I have tested on the dyno and on the track

Whoever designed the oiling system on these things was nuts. Prolly same engineer that laid the lifter bores on their side. Oil going up some pushrods and down others lol come on man

+Yes, you gotta call around tho. Here I believe its orileys that stocks it?

Who’s telling you this? Change it every day if you really want to be safe. It can’t hurt it to have nice new oil consistently. I’m thinking no one told you that and you interpreted that.

Where do you guys buy your oil last time I got mine from the dealer does any other stores sell it?
You will almost never find it in a store for sale. I've heard some have ordered it through NAPA and picked it up at the store but to walk in off the street and find the PUP for sale would be a very rare event.

was saying if I just dumped the majority of the oil at 2k miles and change the filter at 4k. I take the car to the track and wanted cleaner oil I don't take it to 6k.

I could change my tranny fluid every weekend and it would still only be rated for 500 ft lb and have a bunch of cast aluminum parts in it ha

Doesn’t the 8hp90 hc trans have a bunch too or are you talking about guys w a high stall converter and a built trans?

Change the oil AND filter Chris. Do it around 5,000 miles. As stated, cheap insurance man…You can skip draining the oil cooler if you change the oil regular, because it doesn’t hold half a cup in there. Doesn’t take 30 min to do the oil/filter too. You will probably need an oil filter wrench the first time however! The filter is jack hammered on from the factory, and if you have big hands, you can’t get a good grip on it!

Also… They say under no circumstances go over 6,000 miles before changing. Not until.

Listen to the guys that know Chris. It’s non detergent straight 30wt cuz yer motor was built with cast iron rings from the 1950’s. Gotta get them seated properly!

Don’t run it hard either. Dodge only let it idle on the dyno

I heard that before but I do not know what they put in it at the factory that MUST stay in there for 6000 miles or what it supposedly does?

When I build a motor I like to put some runs on it and drain the pan and cut the filter open as soon as possible so I‘m sure everything is happy

Maybe they did that after they dyno it dunno
