Been reading through many discussions regarding oil plug and oil cooler plug replacement with after market products such as Dimple magnetic plugs but still have the following questions:

1. Can I get replacement gaskets for the OEM plugs? If so, where and please provide part #. I don't see a need to replace the entire plug just because the seal is worn. I see Fel-Pro makes some but not sure if they have exact fit.

2. Do the Dimple plugs come with the same rubber seal/gasket as the OEM plugs? If yes, do they sell replacement seals/gaskets? If no, what is the seal/gasket made out of?

3. Also, a past thread identified the plug sizes for ordering dimple but can someone confirm if the below is in fact correct? Pictures are from the Dimple website.

- Oil pan M14x1.50x16

- Oil cooler M12x1.75x21

I have a dimple magnetic plug. The M14 x 1.5 x 16 is the correct size for the main oil drain plug.

I am still looking into the size for the oil cooler drain plug.

Thanks Dansham. Have you ever had to replace the rubber seal on the plug? Is it even rubber on these dimple plugs?

I never replaced the seal. I simply installed the dimple drain plug as it came and it has been great with zero leaks.

Good to know. Next change I do, I will hit local home depot and get thread size on the cooler plug.

Hey @Kitty1045 so I contacted Dimple and asked about the oil cooler drain plug size. They did in fact confirm that the M12x1.75x21 size you posted is correct. I'll be buying it and installing it on my next oil change.

It may work but for a few bucks more, go with the Dimple. I spoke to the owner myself and what a great guy who stands behind his product. The magnets Dimple use are extremely powerful.

I second @Kitty1045. Dimple is one of the best products out there. Their magnets are strong and dependable.

It's your option to go with what you want, but I definitely recommend Dimple.
