Should not rely upon the TPMS for tire pressure setting. The manual calls for using a good quality tire pressure gauge to set the cold tire pressures to the recommended pressure (32psi in the case of my 2020 Scat Pack). The details are covered in the owners manual.
Once one has used a gauge to ensure tires are properly and equally inflated then if available a reset of the TPMS system might be called for. I don't recall ever doing this though. At least with my Dodge cars. I did it with my M-B van once.
But with my Hellcat before it, and my Scat Pack now, the TPMS display agrees with what I know the tire pressures to be when cold.
Upon driving tire pressures go up but not all tires seem to experience the same rise in temperature. Also, there can be some delay between updates. About the time I start to worry about a "low" tire the tire pressure read out updates and then it is in agreement with the other tires.
Another problem is I park the car in a garage. So the tires are all the same temperature when cold. But if I park the car to run an errand and if the car is in the sun, and it is as I avoid parking under trees for the shade, sunlight on the tires can raise the pressure by 1 sometimes 2psi. The tire pressures equalize as I drive but it can take a bit of distance for this to happen.
Oh, the owners manual also covers how the TPMS will signal a problem is there a tire pressure or sensor problem.
