Did it again twice yesterday, inside tire just instantly up in smoke. Does everyone only drive these cars in a straight line to not see this major issue. I think i would go through an entire set of tires in one autocross run just from blowing off the inside tire in every turn. Very disappointing.
I bought one just to go straight line fast.

Rear is bad....warranty. talked to my SRT tech and under throttle both should grab.

Ps I am on my 3rd.
Yes 3rd. Rear assy. Their supplier is not good, if it was out of warranty

If i sense a problem with my hellcat or any of my cars in general

1. see if anyone has the same problem online and if so, what the fix was
2. if nothing online, bring to dealer
3. if dealer can't figure it out, make post online asking other users to try and get an answer.

If you think your rear diff is acting up (It sounds like it is but also that stability control was attempting to keep you straight), then you need to bring to the dealer. Just remember they won't test it via doing a sideways drift out of an intersection or parking lot into the street.

Exactly what i am worried about, how are they going to replicate to even know if there is a problem?
They'll do what they did like my exhaust. Start it up, give it a few rev's in the lot or lift it in the service bay. If it makes no bad sounds and ain't leaking they throw it back onto the lot and tell you to pick it up.

Maybe they'll do a test drive and try to replicate it, most likely not. What you do then is ask a tech to sit in the car with you and show them it locking up when it shouldn't (Aka scare the shit out of him). Then they order the part. That's how i got my exhaust replaced.

Both my challenger six speed and another challenger six speed were at the track doing figure 8 around some cones and the rain because the track was too wet to run on it was raining that hard. when doing figure eights around a cone both of our cars would spin the inside tire without mercy. The only way to get the car to spin around in a donut under that condition was to stop spinning the tires straighten the wheel a little bit and then hammer the gas and turn the steering wheel again and that would produce both tires spinning
Since then I have experienced one tire spinning coming out of a parking lot onto a street or turning a right-hand corner from a stop and getting into the throttle just enough it will spin one tire once one tire is spinning it will definitely not lock up both rear tires at this point the traction of the other tire and the spinning of one tire has overcome the friction of the positraction clutch plates
I was at an autocross a vent last Saturday at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe Washington it was a slow course with many really tight turns and breaking zones most of the time when powering around a autocross cone I experience oversteer but a couple times during that day I got one tire fire

If the clutch plates have been glazed too badly or abuse too badly because of one tire spinning the plates must be replaced to work appropriately again just like a standard transmission clutch

Unfortunately with the asinine welded gear construction of the hellcat differential not accepting any aftermarket carrier units we are left with only one option and that is to replace the entire differential assembly with a factory new unit and we only have four total gear choices

The Ford 9 inch or Dana 60 conversion is quite expensive and a huge leap from stock, hopefully the aftermarket will come to the rescue with true track or wave lock or Detroit locker type carrier units for the stock hellcat differential assembly and open the door for gear ratio choices

I personally feel that a true track helical gear diff or Moser wave lock would be the ideal differential for the hellcat.
our stock posi clutch plate type unit is ancient technology and the softest traction device available.
I would love to drive a manual hellcat with a Detroit locker once or twice just for fun but I think it would be too dangerous for the street or a road course. Fixed parameter straight line drag race types could use it however.

So you bought a 4400 lb. car to drift???????? WTF?? Sell it and get yourself a Mazda Miata. Then you can complain on their forum that it doesn't have enough power. :D;):D

Just so everyone can see that it spins both tires in a straight line in the same custom mode with sport traction, here is a picture of about a 175' patch of dual 305 rubber in my driveway. No I was not trying to do a massive burnout in my driveway, my friends have bet me that I can't do 0-60-0 in my driveway in my cat because they like to rip on the heavy american muscle. That was feathering the throttle the whole way and not destroying the tires, just a sealed blacktop driveway really doesn't offer the best traction. Anyways the point of the post is just to show that i believe the limited slip is working correctly and I am just used to a proper locking rear end in GM products.

And to ^^ this guy, nice try on trolling you almost got me to bite

Are any of you guys getting any wheel hop when use the launch control?
If i set mine 4500 and turn loose it will, spin the tires about 3 ft and then start to wheel hop. It leaves black rubber for about 10 ft with foot long gaps in bwtween the marks. It aslo does the same thing when you shift and spin the tires. It jumps all over the road. Anymthoughts on this?
This is traction control.
I thought it was wher hop or axle wrap also. Just traction control. Hold your TC button for 5seconds to turn it off.

I had some "young adult" try to literally jump in front of me. Luckily I was able to swerve around him. After the event, I popped a u turn. I slowed down, cranked the wheel and popped the throttle wide open, ticked off 1st and went into 2nd, was holding 3,500rpm in 2nd and was gonna let the rear end slide around and do a little 20' strip after turning around, but instead, I just did regular turn around with the inside tire lit up.

The mighty hellcat, one tire fire turn around.

In my experience with eaton tru trac's, adding friction modifier loosens them up and gets rid of chatter.
Best way to tighten up a tru trac is to restack the clutches. Instead of friction/disc/friction/disc, etc, do, disk/disk/disk/friction/friction/friction.

Never had a problem with my ram Dually only spinning one side. Always had both sides light up.

Do Vipers have the same type of rear end? This still just amazes me that the limited slip sucks this bad in the most powerful muscle car ever.

Racist Cat, so more friction modifier makes the situation worse?
