So my JB order was denied at the dealer I’m working with. Now I have to decide between an SS or a REWB.

The REWB is missing the Sepia interior option and the suede headliner.

The SS is limited in 168mph and has smaller brakes.

Don’t know what I should do, as this is the only car I can see myself keeping forever since it’ll likely be the last real muscle car.

Top speed is normally a non issue unless you're doing top speed runs. I never have yet. Smaller brakes are hardly noticeable. Plenty of people here have had both and say there's virtually no difference in brake feel. Road course driving would be different though. I have a loaded RE and still kind of wish I had bought the SS just because it's so close to a Demon. And now it's actually cheaper than a loaded REJB and RE's are now stripped so to me it's a no brainer. Although when given the choice I still chose the RE because it's prob better for my use. But still - I'm loving the SS look if nothing else.

I was in a similar situation a few months ago trying to decide between a super stock or a Redeye wide-body Challenger.
There are a few more differences in between the cars besides brakes and top speed like shocks, rims, tires and a few things with the electronics.
What made the decision for me was I had to ask myself am I going to drag race my car on a regular basis?
Am I going to use it for more of a Sunday afternoon or daily driver car or even a road course Car?
The superstock is definitely a better drag race car, this is what it is made for. The Redeye widebody Challenger makes for a better daily driver, the suspension, tires and the brakes are more suited for regular driving and not optimized for the drag strip.
These are questions only the purchaser can answer for themselves.

I had a similar dilemma (if that's what you want to call it - really can't lose either way). Went with the REWB as I will not drag race and it was about 5K less with the options I wanted.
Just about everything can be changed (for a price) from wheels to brake upgrades to interior.
I personally like the 20" rims over the 18's. I listed out the pro's and cons of each option to help me decide.

good luck

Decisions decisions.

I guess it come down to the nappa/alcantera vs the sepia laguna + suede headliner. I’m not a fan of either wheel setups(though the SS does look better).

I believe the shocks are the same, but the track mode on the SS is setup a little bit different. The speed limiter I assume would be removable with a tune after warranty is up? Not doing top speed runs but it is a defining characteristic of the HCs to me.

You are correct, the shocks are the same, I worded that the wrong way.
It is the shock software that is different.
The speed limiter can be removed via tuning.
I have not been to a drag strip yet with the Redeye however I am planning on going to the Texas mile next month for a few high-speed passes. I believe there is a 2 mile high speed track in Arkansas and I'm going to try that as well.

If you never expect to exceed 168, to me, the SS is the right choice, more now than ever. Configure it the way you like, then get an extra set of wheels with PS4S tires for regular driving.

As an old guy who does not race, I have a different objective. Last Sept I did Land Speed Trials and did 173.537 in the 1mi. I recently ordered a RENB because it is lighter and more aerodynamic than the WB’s. (And way cheaper!) I plan on a Stage 2. I am planning to work my up the ladder in the next year or two and see what top speed I can achieve. For an old guy, I think this is a neat objective.

And if I ever try the 1.5mi, I will need all the braking ability possible. I don’t want to end up in the bushes at the end of the runway!

I have never seen one in person, but I would have definitely ordered a SS if it were not for my new objective!

Another thought: Get a set of wheels and PS4S for the front, and run the stock DR's on the back! So many great options!

I would like to hit top speed once or twice, but the 168 is more so a cool to have for me personally. I would probably change the wheels on either car so you are right, the SS might be the way to go.

found one and they want 30K ADM. my dealer is 3% off of invoice. smh
If your dealer can't deliver, it does't matter if is was 3% off or 99% off. Don't make yourself crazy. Do you really need a WB? Personally I think the NB looks better, and it has advantages, including pricing.

Some guys have to have a WB and the thought of a NB makes them feel emasculated. To me, it makes me feel superior, in more ways than one!

If you have to have a WB, the SS is NOT a compromise!!!!

No way I’d buy a SS when a 40k Scat Pack has a higher top speed lol!
and if you do any of the phase kits that goes away.

I can not wait to see your 1/4 mile times you tell every one else they are wrong on once you get your 22.
but your opinion so god bless.
