I was just informed by my dealer that they are out of automatic transmissions and where that now puts "us" in order to get a 2015 hc is i would have to switch to a 6 speed challenger and get a car built. Or "wait for the 2016". I placed my order on 1-31-15 for a charger. Dealer also stated last week that i was #1 on the list for a charger and #4 for a hellcat. Does this sound right? Does this mean there wont be anymore chargers made?

Check out some of the other no more auto threads on this forum. If you have a VON and are wanting an A8 Chally, you are probably waiting to 2016. If you have a VON for a Charger, there still might be hope for 2015. If you have a VIN, things look better for 2015, but no guarantees at this point. Things are changing daily...good luck.

So if you have a vin then my car will be built with the Auto??
As it appears now, most likely yes. D1 almost certain, D most likely and Von's in BX could go to 2016. Lets see how things play out. With orders closed for 2015, FCA will have a better idea as to how many A8's can be built for this year. I wouldn't totally rule out those in Von with A8's getting a car this year, but would probably be later this summer.

Guessing here, but from all the info I have taken in, Dodge probably only expected to sell about a couple thousand Chargers and a couple thousand A8 Challengers per year. At roughly 4000 auto transmissions per year, this would put transmission production in the range of 300 or so per month. . . Considering logistics, the transmissions are probably shipped over (by sea). I would guess that these are shipped in large batches 2 or 3 times a year. Some transmissions need to be retained as spares to handle warranty replacements. It is possible that Brampton has already received their last shipment of auto transmissions for 2015. All depends on planning, production capability, and transport logistics.
It's been stated on here that the transmission is built here in the good ole USA...I think Indiana if I recall correctly.

I posted in the other thread, but I'm in D status... SRT stated today via live chat that I'm expected to move to D1 on July 27th. 2 months later I'll take delivery if all goes as planned. So I'm looking at October before I get my car.

I don't see those in VON hell to get into D1 status before August (unless the M6 somehow gets you to the front of the line). Just my 2 pennies.

The 8HP90 tranny used in the Hellcat is manufactured in Saarbrucken, Germany. The 8HP70 is manufactured in South Carolina, USA.

We are in the same boat. I went D on 3/30 and haven't heard any updates. I did call SRT on 3/31 and they said I was scheduled for build week of April 27, but I haven't been updated to D1 yet...I think. Some who call SRT get info, some don't. I also brought up (several weeks ago) what does schedule for build mean? If they tell me I am scheduled for build week of 4/27, does that mean I will go D1 that week and scheduled for a build at a later date, or will the cat actually be built that week? Most replied it meant that it will actually be built week of 4/27.
Some orders will be cancelled and those with duplicates will cancel when their real cat shows, M6's will allow more A8's to go through, and perhaps A8s will make a comeback toward the end of the MY. I don't see a lot of VON's moving forward, but I suspect some may get VIN's for 2015. Just hold tight everyone and "don't knowbody do nothin' too crazy" if you can help it.
