Painted a new coolant reservoir this week, testing a durable PPG paint withstanding 250 deg.
If holds up, ill be offering services. To those interested. Logistics being worked out.

My comment never said it was a radiator (on purpose), but does conduct heat to the cooler air because heat always flows from hot to less hot... unless something like paint traps/impedes it.

And in this application, to what degree? Would it be safe to say 'negligible'?

I like it 👍. Coolant tank sure ugly up an engine. One of the first things I did was get that ugly ass thing out of there. Got a aluminum Morose from summit.

It was either satin black or bright white. Maybe ill paint my orig tank bright white.

JLT makes tank covers that have the same look and are durable. I just think paint on a coolant tank will always eventually have issues.

Iirc JLT doesnt anymore, Scalia, RPI does... besides I had that and didnt care for it. I got this tank and painted for 150, much better than any current vendor and cheaper than the covers. Time will tell regarding durability.

The covers were 60 and 50 if I remember correctly.
If the paint holds up it looks much better than stock.
But how much are the tanks to buy plus materials/labor?
Likely much more than the black covers I would think.

The black looks good with everything else that's black ie intake,strut covers. Need a black strut brace even though I don't think they do much but look Cool.😎

Paint looks good. I do prefer just the covers to but have to admit it looks nice.

In that first pic it's hard to tell. The whit is masked off so you can accurately check levels?

When testing durability you also need to test against chemicals too. Should be fine but something to test for if you plan to offer it as a service.

Nice. I agree. IMO, when u open the hood on our cars, the factory coolant expansion tank sticks out/jumps out at you, looking cheap and out of place on the car (and the smaller supercharger overflow tank is no Picasso either.) I've been looking at options myself, and keep coming back to the morosso u have, especially since they are the only company I've found that offer matching tanks (did u get the matching one for supercharger?). Havent purchased yet simply bc iIve been trying to find both in black.. (tho, I know Morossos description mentions they can be powder coated). Mishimoto makes a black coolant expansion tank that looks nice, but not 1 for the sc that I am aware of. Have u been happy with the morosso? Any issues?

Yes, however, the dealer installed the new purple coolant and it super dark against the black finish. Just an observation. Yes def has to go thru a R/D phase. But I spoke with Ron from ModFather Kustomz and he hopes to return to the scene in Spring/Summer '22.
