I am getting SO sick of people trying to make themselves feel better about their regretful purchases of 'lesser' cars by tearing apart the Hellcat and not giving it the credit and respect it deserves!

That was one of the BIGGEST reasons I stopped frequenting the "Talky Challenger" place from the past and started hanging around here. The V6 guys would tear down the V8 guys at EVERY opportunity and try to talk up their slow, cheap azz purchases. It always felt like they were a stupid little Chihuahua or Yorkie on the end of a leash that NEVER knew when to stop barking until someone got fed up and punted it into a swimming pool.

I'm not saying there isn't a time or place for the 'entry models' but if you honestly buy one, then sit back on a forum or attend a car meet and try to insist that you somehow made the "better, smarter choice" and that your whiz-bang 6 cylinder is in some way SUPERIOR to something like a 392 or Hellcat, YOU'RE CRAZY (and stupid)!

For example, there is a video posted on the YouTubez reviewing a Scat Pack Challenger... AMAZING car! Beautiful, powerful, sounds GREAT, good value for the money - I have nothing but love for the Scat Pack (and 392 for that matter)

But the comment section provided me with the chance to witness some of the most ABSURD statements I have ever heard when this poor SAP tried to tear down our beloved Cat to make himself feel better.

He said things like (and these are DIRECT QUOTES):

I was in market for a hell cat but chose the scat. Much, much, much better choice. You get MUCH more for your money
and it sounds 10x better than a hellcat. I test drove both and decided on scat.
...and my PERSONAL FAVORITE:

The hellcat whines really loud which kind of starts to hurt my ears after a while (making it a garage-liver vs daily like scat)
He also went on to finish with this very insultingly hilarious line;

I did put on a Cold Air Intake, and this growls so nice. I chose the growl over the whine lol, plus something about raw engine power feels amazing vs super charged. Not knocking SC's, but they sound like modded Civics to me.
What a TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!! I'm sorry but I had to vent somewhere and post these dumb comments for ALL to see and laugh at.

Seriously dude? LOL

"The Hellcat whines really loud which kind of starts to hurt my ears after a while" - that is the steamiest line of B.S. I have EVER read! The Scat Pack is a SWEET machine for sure and sounds MEAN as Hell, but to say it sounds better than the Hellcat means you are on some crazy kind of crack! To say the Scat is "10x better sounding" means you've gone FULL RETARD! LOL

With the markups and lack of stock at dealers, I'm calling STRAIGHT B.S. on you EVER having driven one (most dealers wont even let you SIT in one) and the things you say about Hellcats reinforce my doubt that you've had actual seat time in one of these!

Please tell me how you get "MUCH more for your money" with a Scat Pack and how it's the "much much much better choice" I just traded in my 392 Challenger SRT (which is more or less the same as the new Scat Packs) and compared to the Hellcat, the 392 felt like a "modded Civic" as you put it.

You say you prefer the "raw engine power" compared to the S/C 6.2L??? Coming from an owner of BOTH cars, I can't imagine what you're talking about and certainly don't know what is not to LOVE about 411lb/ft of torque at 1200rpm (read that again, 411tq @ 1200rpm) and 650lb/ft @ 4800rpm!

Not to blow my cars horn but, in every measurable sense, the Hellcat is VASTLY superior to the Scat Pack AND THEN SOME... Stop turning this comment section into a comedy channel! :p
He then went on to INSIST that the Hellcat was DOUBLE THE PRICE of the Scat Pack (he even admitted paying $47,000 for his Scat Pack - since when is a Hellcat $94,000??????)

/end rant

I've responded on YouTube so many times that I stopped looking at the comments. The people who know the least talk the most.

Basically it comes down to jealuosy. I have learned that most people that I know that have the money to purchase one of these cars seem to have nothing but nice things to say about the Hellcat. It's the people that have no way that they could ever afford one that seem to really tear the Hellcat apart on every aspect. Lower model Challenger owns, Ford owners, Chevy onwers. Doesnt matter.

There is nothing wrong with having a 6 cylinder or the standard 5.7L or a Scat Pack. Not everyone needs or wants 700+ hp I get that. I have no less respect to a lower model owner unless they want to be complete asshats.

I do the Challenger wave to any Challenger v6 all the way up to Hellcat. Doesn't matter to me. Everyone has their reasons on why they choose a specific model and thats their business.

There is no doubt that ANY fool (no matter the forum) who is knocking the HC and saying his "(insert ANY car of less performance here)" is as good or better than a Hellcat is 1)Stupid, 2)Jealous, 3)Trying to compensate for something, and 4) clearly NOT a performance car enthusiast.

This type of BS is all over the internet, regardless of the brand. You will see a few respectful posts by some owners of other cars saying how great the HC is, etc. But there are ALWAYS stupid, ignorant people who say "I will NEVER own a Hell Kitty (don't you love that stupidity?) because my V6/V8 Brand X is cheaper and sounds way better to me!" rather than the truth which is "I'm so F'ing stupid and really jealous so I will just insult the HC".

Simply amazing.

I do not bother replying to stupid people, as it simply encourages them to continue talking/typing. If you respond to them, you are: 1) acknowledging their presence, 2) giving them the attention they crave, and 3) it makes them think you actually give a flying f**k about their opinion. As I have said for decades ... stupid people should not be allowed to breed, so gently sterilize them before puberty.

This has been going on forever by the jealous people. In 1992 I bought my first Corvette and some dickhead at work was giving me a hard time about it because of fuel efficiency. I said "I don't give a fukk about fuel efficiency because I live a mile away from here. Yes, you drive an 'efficient' little 4 cylinder Nissan but you also live 50 miles away so you burn more fuel in a day than I do in a week."

I checked on the comments this morning, he's still going on bragging that "he could have bought one NO problem, money is NO issue but consciously bought the Scat Pack because it was clearly the better car"

He keeps saying the HELLCAT S/C whine sounds like a Honda Civic... WTF?

That's the only downside to owning a Hellcat, dealing with all the MORONS that seem to gravitate to it. I went to a car meet yesterday at the local A&W and, although there were dozens of Mopars, there were about 100 belly buttons (Mustangs) there.

I was the only Hellcat so it naturally drew attention... I couldn't believe my ears when the Ford morons with little 5L's were heckling FROM A DISTANCE with tired old lines like "heeeeeere kitty kitty kitty"

I get out of the car and some Mustang guy walks over and says in an offended tone "uhh, awfully nice of you to park this thing near all the Fords"

I looked at him confused because on the one hand, I had parked next to the Mopar vehicles, and on the other, was pretty sure it was a public parking lot and can park wherever I want!

I told him I like Mustangs as well and that my father in law is a long time Ford worker but he got all snooty and walked away.

Luckily, the Hellcat love started pouring in right about then as an SRT Jeep and SRT Magnum came and snuggled up next to Slimer so it was all good.

The world is full of ass-hats I tells ya.

Tell them your Ford is your winter beater. But since I don't know your location, a winter beater may not be an insult ;)
