Im sorry but i call bullshit on some of this. Nobody who has had a hellcat, or was in the market for a hellcat, then said **** it and ordered a V6. Anyone who was or has ever been seriously in the market for a hellcat is not buying a v6 mopar. stop it

Dodge is not the only brand and if you ordered a hellcat and then the price goes up or the intrest goes up, there are a ton of other cars which are similar enough that you can go get one
Agree 100%. Just today I was at my local Chevy dealer for an oil change and they have a triple black ZL1 convertible for sale. 77k, fully loaded with just about everything minus the 1LE package. NAV, premium sound, all the tech options... for 30-40k less than the average Redeye (and arguably pretty darn close to it in straight line performance).

There are definitely alternatives to be had. I'm no Camaro fan, but IMO, a supercharged convertible is a pretty nice thing.

I don't understand how someone would pay the ADM in the first place! I also think that it's Stupid to help the dealers out with financing deals for selling cars that could've been sold at sticker but weren't sold because of being Greedy (ridiculous ADM's)!

Whether of not the Manufacturer's realize it or not, those dealerships reflect back on them by being a representative and by not stopping them from adding ADM, shows that they can't control their reps. By giving financing deals will help sell cars, but by offering them is like rewarding a child for bad behavior and telling them that it's alright, we'll bail you out!

What they should do is find the greedy dealership's and cut their allocations. When they've proven that they can be good representative's of the brand (no ADM's), then they can get back on the allocation list.

Just a thought!

You're right! I got my adages mixed up! Thanks for the correction! :)

Also, Sorry SickToo but Thanks for the "Pack Sand" Definition and in a way your definition still fits what the dealer adding the ADM can do with their car!
Well, dealerships are privately owned. They aren't corporate franchises. There's only so much they can do. The manufacturer, like Ford, can try and curb price gouging, but for every dealership they penalize, there's 5 more that do it anyway. Once the dealership takes the car into inventory, they own it. It's their property. In most cases, they can sell it however they want.

And usually, the high ADM dealers that regularly do it are also high volume sellers. So, it usually pays for the manufacturer to turn a blind eye. Even in today's modern tech world, most car buyers are stupid and don't know just how bad they're getting taken for a ride... or they buy into the shpeel, "In these times, everyone's charging a premium. It's just how it is." But luxury/high performance vehicle markets are different. They don't generally follow economic trends and are typically insulated from things like high inflation and so on. That's because most buyers in this bracket aren't affected as much as the folks who generally buy in the 15-25k bracket. Spending an extra 10 grand for someone who makes 300k per year is not the same as for someone who makes 50k.

The only “right” way to deal with dealer markups is a free market. To control them other wise is facism at best. If you don’t like it don’t pay it

See, I'm a pure capitalist. It sucks when it's something you want, but in spirit, I don't have an issue with it. The market will bear what the customer will pay. Luxury buyers don't place the same value on a dollar as others do. A single mom with 2 kids values a dollar a lot more than someone who has 50 thousand of those dollars sitting in the bank making interest. As such, those buyers will just as well over spend on a car if it is one they have to have. They might go, "Ah, this price blows" and try and negotiate on it, but if it is something they want but have to overpay to get it, they'll do it. These overpriced cars aren't intended to be sold to common people. They're being sold to the people ringing their phones off the hook from 5 states away looking to snag an available car in the spec they want.

Case in point, at the height of the Great Depression, one of the most beautiful cars ever made was laid down in the form of the '36-'37 supercharged Auburn Speedster. Rich folks scooped them up while the common man was eating lunch in soup lines:

I get it and agree with you but I just don't like to see Greed and People getting taken advantage of. I also understand that the dealer doesn't have a gun to those people's heads and they know about the ADM up front and are willing to do just what you said. I'm not one of those people because I Hate paying sticker for a car, much less an ADM.

That's just me though!

By the way, that Auburn is a Great looking car!

What’s wrong with greedy whores?
"Market Price". When the overpaid (fill in the blank) have a convention in LV, (or CHI or wherever) demand goes up and so do prices. So, does anyone expect a DC whore to charge the same as a Duluth whore?

The reason your 401k increases in value is because the demand for the items in the portfolio has increased, that is free market. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything and no one is forcing anyone to sell anything at any particular price (except Ocare health insurance, don't get me started!). Everyone decides for themself what they want to do. I decide not to overpay. On the other hand, I am happy to sell to someone willing to overpay. Once you get accustom to the process, you can work it to your advantage! :)

I bought a 2022 RE because it was pretty obvious all this was on the way. Anyone want to grossly overpay for a 22RE??? Let me know! :ROFLMAO:

I paid 5k AMD for REWB not real happy about it but accepted the fact that it was my choice. In reality if I passed I wouldn’t have gotten the car as few were sold at sticker many more paid more than I did and it’s still their choice. After all I paid a 5% more. Not mad at dealer either.

I find it funny so many will pay a 2-5x the price for a beer depending upon bar/venue and never say a peep. Ever go to a sporting event and pay $10 a drink, likely had more than a few, probably bought a round and left a nice tip for beer man etc.

Buying a car isn’t like having a beer out, however I don’t buy a new car as often as many years of beer out. In the big scheme of things it’s about personal choice and I’m getting a new HCREWBJB barring no unforeseen circumstances still feel pretty good about it however that cost me 5k. I guess I’ll go back to work tomorrow.

The impossible to get ADM 392 wrangler is now 7% below invoice if anybody wants one. Things that could never happen are starting to happen. Also got a call from my RV dealer who told me seven months ago there was a two-year wait and retail plus pricing. Now has plenty in stock and can also order with big discounts.
Imagine that

It could be worse.

In Sweden we had free health care. That my parents paid 80% in tax to get it is surely irrelevant.
Anyway, in my case the bummer was that when my knees went out at 18 (couldn't walk more than about 10 feet), I got a doctors appointment for three years later.

Thankfully my mom had contacts and could get me to a private doctor in a mere three months. Yeah, "free" healthcare is great. NOT!
We have the same "free health care" here in Canada. I only pay 45% income tax so I also have to wait 24hrs in emergency and surgeries are 3-5 years out...

Exactly, there's no such thing as free health care.

What is important is to clearly know your objective and what you are willing to do to achieve it, and apparently you do. Some people freak about ADM and whine for years, others pay it and get exactly what they want and are happy. That is how the free market works, it assures that those that want/need it most are able to get it!

As far as the "free" stuff: There was a line by Michael Ironside in Starship Troopers: "Anything free has no value!"
