Take this for what you will. Talked to the AWE guys @ Carlisle last summer. At the Redeye level, their track edition only shows 7 hp improvement. Stated basically if you are staying stock, not getting supporting mods/tune, the gains are not worth the buck over stock.
That AWE sounded pretty damn awesome
Get yerself (2) SpinTech 304ss mufflers. Get either the 6000 if you want it really loud or the 9000 series if ya just wanna get rid of the raspy sounding stock straight thru set up. Get some 304 3” U bends and some straight 304 tubing. You already have a chop saw m a tig machine? Purge w argon after its tacked together and yer welds will be smooth as silk inside : )
I will totally get the track exhaust when I get to that point. But right now the cost/benefit isn't there so I'll stay stock for now.
I've never installed a cat back for actual performance gains only for a different sound. Most modern performance cars built today have very good flowing exhaust. I went with the AWE for a little more sound at wot. The AWE sounds amazing on my ss, a little louder at idle and sounds killer full throttle and has less noise at cruise speed on freeway. Zero ZERO drone. I have had terrible luck with the exhaust flaps not staying open when you start making big power on both my redeye and ss so it was nice to eliminate those.
I wish Spintech made a catback system for our cars. I have an AWE system, but….
The best sounding car I ever had was my 05 GTO. In addition I was trying to wring every HP out of it. We tried 3 systems on the car….Magnflow, Corsa, and Spintech. The Spintech madethe most hp/tq.
I went with a mid muffler delete and added Dynomax race bullets. Sounds perfect

Get ya some Black widow “RACE VENOMS”. Have an amazing old school sound at idle, wakes the dead when on throttle and won’t break the bank. Think they’re $120 a muffler. They don’t rasp like the race bullets do and zero drone.
They will custom build one for your car if you ship it to them with the headers already on it. They will need yer car for a week and the $4k deposit up front. They charge by the hour and most systems end up around $5k. They will not install headers or remove cats.
I don’t have much but I do have a chop saw a tig and 2 full bottles or argon : )
*their mild steel mufflers are $100 ea. SS are 500/pair
I have AWE Exhaust on my Hellcat Charger the Track Edition. I Daily Drive and Drag Race. I absolutely love the sound and get many compliments around town on the sound!

BUT:
Not all HC came w straight thru resonators. Kinda crazy to consider changing exhaust without knowing what you have first. The only thing crazier would be to ask others what sounds best cuz exhaust sound is not objectionable
Just looking for opinions. No one has mentioned carven.
