So recently, I tried to work with Drive Auto in Everett, WA. I wanted them to replace the super charger pulley and retune.

Had some issues however; 1) they ONLY work with HP tuners. They will NOT work with any other tuner. So that requires I send in my PCM for reflash so they can use the dyno. This takes 6 to 8 weeks and the guy said this without batting an eye. He refused to work with Diablosport.

So I said, OK... how about you just replace the pulley and I'll limp it to a tuner I know who can crack the encryption and retune my stock PCM. Dude says no, he won't replace my pulley unless he tunes the car with HP tuner which takes 6 to 8 weeks.

So basically, money aside these guys won't do anything unless it's on their terms, and I just need to accept the fact that my car is a paper weight for up to 2 months... is this the norm?

No, it’s not the norm. Are you capable to change the pulley and injectors yourself? Most 2.85 pulley and injector based on size and brand combos are canned tunes that have injector trims tweaked after a a few run logs and that’s about if, not rocket science by far.

I only want to decrease the pulley enough so the injectors can still meet the AF ratio. That said, I looked at Youtube and while I'm pretty good with a wrench and all, this is a littler harder than I thought. According to the video I watched you have to take the upper half of the super charger off to get to the pulley.

As far as canned tunes, how are we tuning the PCM? As I understood, it is not writable without having to flash the firmware to release the encryption...

You can find unlocked PCM’s here on the forum for cheap often, or send your PCM direct to HP Tuners or Diablosport to have it unlocked on buy a unlocked one from a vendor with HP T or DS ready to accept a tune. If your only looking for a bit more power you can ad a Incognito Sleeve to the lower pulley and gain maybe 2 lbs of boost, their easy to install and most times get away with stock size injectors or a inexpensive upgrade to Demon/Redeye size injectors. A upper pulley change is a bit involved but you can just take the snout off and send it to a vendor like Jokers or John Bond and they can change the pulley for you and return snout and you just put it back on with a different size belt. I would stay away from the tuner your talking too, doesn’t sound like your getting good service or advice.

When you guys say the "snout", it comes off easily? I'll look on YouTube for more info. The last I checked to change the pulley required removing a windshield wiper LOL!

I have never heard of this incognito you're speaking of🤔

Great posts you guys, very informative and I thank you for your time!

Yes, windshield wipers come off, 15mm socket and 2 minutes time. Plastic cowl comes off 10 or so push clips, 10 minutes. Upper Tower Cross brace comes off, 4 bolts 2-3 push clips holding wires and a large plug. Take SC belt off, just loosen tensioner with 15mm box end wrench. Take SC lid off, 20 or so I think T23 or 25 Torx heads, take SC mounting bolts out, like 12-16 of them, 1/2 hour to get lid off. Lift front of SC about an inch and put a 1” or so thick CLEAN spacer between SC and the head to hold it up. Unplug all sensors from the Throttle body and snout. Disconnect air inlet from TB. Remove 6 bolts from snout to SC, 13 mm socket and 6” extension. Take snout off. Change pulley, put it back on, follow torque sequence to put SC and lid back on, easy peasy.

Sorry to hear about Drive Auto I've heard good things but never used them. The other one I've heard positive about in the PNW is CarbConn in Kirkland.

On another note, are you part of any of the local modern Mopar groups? It's a run south for me but have done cars and coffee with MMOSC...Modern Mopars of Sno County a few times. I'm looking forward to more events in the future. Also a good place to get info about local shops.

So update on this, yes I am a member of Western Washington Modern Mopars. We had a guy in the group with his own dyno and tuning software. He took a long break from it for personal reasons but when I posted to the group a second time, he came out of the woodwork😀

So he can crack the PCM and do the tune. I just need to work on finding the 2.85 pulley and 1050 injectors (probably on google). I'm told I can get the pulley on and just don't boost until I get to a dyno. Injectors have to be put on at the dyno though.

what about this?
Direct Connection Is Back
Dodge is bringing back the Direct Connection performance parts brand—launched in 1974—and now available from Power Brokers dealerships.
"Dodge is a pure performance brand, and the reintroduction of Direct Connection will empower members of the brotherhood looking for increased performance without violating emission requirements or the factory warranty," said Kuniskis in a release. "We're doubling down on our commitment to Direct Connection by pairing it with our new Dodge Power Brokers program, so when customers want to unlock the true horsepower potential of their Dodge muscle car, they can connect with a network of dealerships as their trusted resource."
In addition to factory-tuned parts, there will be Direct Connection "tuner" and "stage" kits so owners can legally tweak their vehicles, unlocking almost 100 horsepower from the first set of kits—with more to come. Performance kits will upgrade the engine, suspension, and driveline of the current Challenger. Direct Connection will also offer race-ready parts for the Dodge Challenger Mopar Drag Pak, including a body-in-white to build your own Drag Pak. Direct Connection parts will be available starting Dec. 15.
