I am with you on this TJ. I have expressed my frustrations many times here. I ordered through a smaller dealer because they are a customer of mine and I believe it is a good business practice to patronize the people that patronize your company. Will this put me out of my Hellcat, I don't know. Should it, no frickin' way. It is a sold order since September and I was leap frogged in the second allocation, with no reason given. The dealer has no reason to lie to me. Chrysler, you are The Man in this case, you can do whatever you want, as you have been doing. Change your system and do the right thing. Fill the sold orders then worry about the dealer allocation system. Don't punish your faithful customers. I am also one of those people that have worked my butt off and feel this is a great opportunity to own an extreme muscle car before I can't drive anymore

Amen! There was another similar thread on here started back in September, "how dodge dealers are earning the right to sell Hellcats". The more noise more of us make we could catch someone's attention. Keep posting folks and thanks for the support. Dodge has an opportunity to seriously upstage Ford and Chevy in a serious way... Possibly taking the crown for a long time. This IS NOT the way to do it. By no means am I trying to take away from the folks that have been through this and have their cars... My hats off to you. A lot of these cars that re on the road right now are for "friends" and "VIP" dealer customers. The dealer Clay Cooley here in the Dallas area flat out told me that and basically told me what I could do with myself if I wasn't willing to pay $10k over. Sure, to their Dallas Cowboy customers... Chump change. To us enthusiasts that will make this car the ledgend or at least benchmark car it will be are you and I... The regular Joes... No pun intended. Lol
You are absolutely right. The athletes, celebrities, and wealthy will buy a Hellcat, then a BMW, a Jag, a Bugatti, Ferrari, etc. The normal Joe will buy a Hellcat, then a Ram, a 200, a Caravan, a Jeep etc. These exec's are not as smart as they think they are.

And I am a life long Chevy owner... With the exception of one Mustang GT. Was what I could afford at 19 so that's my excuse and I had fun with it. I've owned a Corvette my whole life, passed down from my dad. All those little things about cars that we REAL CAR GUYS notice I can spot a mile away on most cars... What years had this or that. You all know what I'm talking about. Stepping away from my roots is a step for me. I could easily and originally was going to get a ZL1 or a Vette... But this is different
I agree, I was going to get a C7 of some sort. I currently have a 1972 C3, but when I saw the Hellcat I was sold. It's too bad the process is not as enjoyable as I am sure the car is. I know there will always be frustration when we have to wait for some things, but this could have been a better experience

I agree Dodge has done a poor job on this allocation BS. While I haven't placed an order as of yet (since I can't find a dealer willing to sell at MSRP), I will say I test drove a ZL1 over the weekend. Nice car, but at 6'6" tall, it was a very tight fit unlike the Challenger. It reassured me the Challenger Hellcat was the car for me so I will continue to wait. I think things are going to change in the coming months as more and more of these get cranked out. I'll stay on the sidelines for now, but definitely ready to buy one Dodge Brother (if you're listening)!
I agree DD, at 6'6" also and 280# the Hellcat is the right fir for me. I have a C3 Vette and I fall out of it to get out. Maybe the allocations should go by size and age, what do you think??:p:p:D

It just seems so crystal clear. Make a statement, any statement. Blow smoke up our ass if you have to, but at least look like you care about what is going on. How much could it cost to pay some nerdy college intern to send a mass email to the people that have cars ordered and money down, asking us to be patient while they work the bugs out of the process. Right now the Dodge Brothers look like the Smothers brother!

Folks, just remember that there is a very limited segment of the population that even want a Challenger/Charger Hellcat. As much as I like the car compared to to others, most Americans could care less. We are a select group who WILL get a car if you can remain patient. There will come a day that these will be available to purchase off the lot (yes I know its hard to fathom the thought, but it will happen). In time Ford will be producing a 700HP Mustang which to most Americans is a far more popular car and triples the sales of Dodges. GM will follow up with something for the Camaro
(its already in the works). The bottom line is simple, Dodge needs to capitalize while they can. Once the competition makes there specialty cars available things will change and you won't have people running around saying the sky is falling.. If this was a "very limited" car most everyday folks either wouldn't spend the money for this car or couldn't afford it because it would be priced to where only a select group of people would buy this car like celebrities or athletes.. So yes, this car is special because its the first of its kind, but let's chill out and let things happen. Its Winter for most of us anyway.. Oh and if you have a VON, that means nothing.. Its when you go to D status that means something. For people that gave deposits in "good faith" unless the dealer has an allotment, your not even in the order banks at Dodge..
I agree KM, most of us know a VON means nothing. But I think if Chrysler took the people that have orders and money in from 3 months ago, and gave them all VINs, it would cool things down a bit

You have to remember bfusion that Chrysler isn't taking orders or deposits from any consumer, that's the dealers. Most dealers (ethical) aren't even taking orders if they don't have an allocation. Its unfortunate that there are dealers who are taking deposits to start a waiting list/line to get a car as they gain allocations from Dodge. Until they start building sold orders nothing will change. They will start building "sold" orders sometime next spring, but for now unless a dealers has an allocation, a;; of the VON's and deposits mean nothing to Dodge..
I understand but if you ask most people, their contact with the car companies is through the dealer. Their dealer is Chrysler or Ford or whatever. You can't blame them

What amazes me is that when I first(quote unquote) ordered in the beginning of August my dealer took my money and said Chrysler wanted to make sure these were legit people/orders. They didn't want large collectors or dealers buying them and selling them with a large mark up to the normal customer. Ha! imagine if they only produced 1300 like the original number, none of the everyday customers would have them right now. We are not worthy oh great Penstar!

What i understand from their messages is:

Hey moron, you are stuck with our little allocation bs system, deal with it.

I firmly believe that the doctors that were paid 80 million bucks to teach how to torture terrorists, also designed the Hellcat allocation system, any doubts?
I sent these ja#* offs a letter via the SRT contact us page yesterday, I doubt I will get anything but an automated reply. What theyare saying is our dealers may be greedy and unscrupuolus bastsrds but you still have to pick from one of them and we don't care because we are making our money. It is absolutely maddening and we should have let Chrysler go belly up. Even if I were to get a Hellcat tomorrow, It would not change how I feel about there customer service. I wanted this car because it was a good fit for me, but not at all costs. I have a strong feeling none of this bs will change, no matter what. I guess some of us are jut screwed.

im sick of it all at this point.. i was really holding onto hope of getting picked up by years end.. now, to read stories.. and maybe thats all they are.... of people now walking in and buying off of showroom floors or making deals while car is en route, while my order with deposit goes untouched pisses me off to no end..

what is the point of pre ordering with large deposit again? my order hasnt been touched in 4 months when it was accepted.

It doesnt matter if its the Chrysler or the Dealer flying the Chrysler flag.. to me "the customer" they are one... i can only purchase thru one.
I agree, as there is no other representation or contact with Chrysler the dealer IS Chrysler. No defense or excuses!!

I posted a pic of my `72 Stingray coupe (4-speed survivor with factory AC & PS; Ontario Orange Firemist) it is in the other thread titled "What is parked next to your Hellcat", do you have a pic of your C3? I don't plan to get rid of my vette or T-Bucket or SUV or economy car, but really need a muscle car to balance the load, and the Hellcat is the only one that meets my criteria, but I'm still not bonafide, just VONafide unfortunately.
Hey X, mine is an Elkhart Green auto survivor. I will put up a pic a little later. I plan on keeping it too

I was shocked when he said it was Tim Kuniskis. I was like really. I knew his voice from hearing his press conference's and that it was him. Plus i never told anyone i sent email. We also talked about my other cars and wanted my thoughts on my 13 viper. I have renewed faith in SRT!!!
Thanks Badcat, just that little bit really helps renew faith. One of my dealers called my yesterday to say things were opening up and I could order my Laguna leather, still at $4K over. I said no thanks, I will wait on my original order from another dealer at MSRP. Almost a principle thing now.

I emailed Mr. Kuniskis this morning, and to my pleasant surprise i received a phone call from him personally. We talked 20 minutes about my concerns with the allocation process, and the frustrations that we all are having. He is aware of this and says with over 7000 orders, supplier's are overwhelmed and are ramping up production as quickly as they can. I explained to him that seeing these cars on dealers lots for sale and pre sold orders going untouched are the issues stirring me up as well as everyone else. He says he did not blame anyone for being upset, he would be too. He says be patient just a little while longer and we will see a change as these issues resolve themselves with the vast increase in production. He seemed very sincere and concerned with unhappy customers with the allocation process. I hope this gives hope to all who is waiting on a vin or better yet a car. It has made me better, at least for now. I never directly asked if all orders would be filled, but everything else he said leads me to believe they will. We also spoke about this forum, and he is aware of the need for a designated person to answer questions, even though it won't always be what we want to hear.
Di he say if they had anyone monitoring this forum?

All they have to do to satisfy most of the people here is get them a VIN and an approximate build date. You ould be surprised how much complaining would die down. So excuses about parts and so much demand are BS. If they said Mr. B, your order was placed in Sept. we are running approx 6 months so you should see it by April just as you ordered it, and here is your VIN. Who would be complaining?
