Dear Dodge,

If you are listening and are viewing these boards, I have a lot of questions that I would like to have answered by someone in the know. As I have stated many times before, I understand that a car of this caliber is not going to come out as quick as we would all like, however, a little clarity in this process would be appreciated by me and I know many other Hellcat brothers and sisters alike. Here we go:

These are simple questions meant with the best intention for all....

1. This dealer allocation process is as clear as mud and here is why I say that. A local dealer here in Dallas has had MANY allocations as they are a large dealer. I don't understand how they have had several 'Cats come in UNSOLD, let me repeat, UNSOLD with a $10,000.00 mark up with no budging. Why is it that I placed a deposit on 8/9/14, ordered on the first day, 9/9/14 and I am still waiting for and "allocation" and a VIN. This is a SOLD... I repeat, SOLD ORDER to a customer yet I feel as if I am off in purgatory simply because I'm subject to this dealer allocation process. I'm sure you are aware of how all buyers feel about dealers and the car business in general. This does not help their cause nor does it do any favors to Dodge.

2. Why not abandon this allocation process and the the orders as they came in? Certainly this would or could avoid dealer gaming and keep they buyer more informed by possibly allowing us to know our place in line.

3. Buyers of vehicles like this are your brands greatest advocates. As you know, this car will allow many of us to play with the big boys which from what I understand was one of the biggest points of this car. I've been in this forum for a little while now and have read many frustrating stories from people you have guaranteed sales from. Why not make the customer your advocate rather than the dealers? I could easily drum up business for any Chrylser product and refer them to the dealer I use, and I'm no salesman.

4. I am not made of money and sitting and waiting for someone to say to my order "so let it be written, so let it be done" has made me put a lot of other financial decisions on hold. I make sound financial decisions and this is what is allowing me to buy this car. Whether I finance or pay cash, you have a SOLD CAR. Please, can you be more transparent with this process? The Hellcat team are bright individuals, I'm sure they anticipated a flood of orders... Just like what happened. Help us out!

If anyone else has any more questions to add, please do. If anyone out there has a line to someone at Dodge that will listen, please pass this on or let me know how I can get these questions and concerns answered. If anyone from Dodge reads this, I would love to hear from you.

Thank you sublimecat.... I'm not looking to make demands or stomp my foot or steal a place in line... But from what I have experienced and witnessed first hand, this is exactly what is happening to us waiting buyers of sold cars. All I want is my car. I've been waiting for a car like this most of my adult life. I even was a Viper Specialist and am just sitting here sick from waiting. It also appears that this dealer allocation process is either straight up BS... OR true to fashion, slimeball dealers are doing what they do best... Screw customers to line their pockets. I can't say a bad thing about my dealer as they are selling to me at MSRP... One of the enticements of this allocation deal, yet many of us sit here waiting and to be honest, I kinda feel like a dope. Sure I could cancel my order and get my deposit back, but this is the car I want. I'll wait, but the way this process has unfolded in my experience is like waiting for the Titaninc reach port.

Thanks Tommie, the fact that you replied goes a long way. dodge needs to know if dealers are doing this because it borders on fraud. I'm in the same position you are... $10k more puts it out of the ballpark for me too. And dealers wonder why folks think what they do of them. dodge needs to step up in my opinion. This is not how business is done.

I am in BA status... Whatever that means... Just says pending order next to it. Thank you for echoing my words. The only thing we can do is keep asking and asking and that's kinda BS. I don't want to annoy my dealer because I don't want to be that guy and I don't want to be played. They have been decent so far. They have had two allocations and I'm supposedly #3, so im next. I agree, how can one walk into a dealer this late in the game, order and get at least a VIN. Maybe dodge should make public the dealers sales numbers (which will never happen) because how in gods name is a buyer supposed to know what dealers are privileged for allocations? Are we to ask the dealer? Haha, yea and they will sell you the Brooklyn bridge too.

P.S. I thought this car was conceived by "car guys"? Maybe those "car guys" are the equivalent to the DBags we all experienced in school... Posers.

Amen! There was another similar thread on here started back in September, "how dodge dealers are earning the right to sell Hellcats". The more noise more of us make we could catch someone's attention. Keep posting folks and thanks for the support. Dodge has an opportunity to seriously upstage Ford and Chevy in a serious way... Possibly taking the crown for a long time. This IS NOT the way to do it. By no means am I trying to take away from the folks that have been through this and have their cars... My hats off to you. A lot of these cars that re on the road right now are for "friends" and "VIP" dealer customers. The dealer Clay Cooley here in the Dallas area flat out told me that and basically told me what I could do with myself if I wasn't willing to pay $10k over. Sure, to their Dallas Cowboy customers... Chump change. To us enthusiasts that will make this car the ledgend or at least benchmark car it will be are you and I... The regular Joes... No pun intended. Lol

And I am a life long Chevy owner... With the exception of one Mustang GT. Was what I could afford at 19 so that's my excuse and I had fun with it. I've owned a Corvette my whole life, passed down from my dad. All those little things about cars that we REAL CAR GUYS notice I can spot a mile away on most cars... What years had this or that. You all know what I'm talking about. Stepping away from my roots is a step for me. I could easily and originally was going to get a ZL1 or a Vette... But this is different

I agree, I was going to get a C7 of some sort. I currently have a 1972 C3, but when I saw the Hellcat I was sold. It's too bad the process is not as enjoyable as I am sure the car is. I know there will always be frustration when we have to wait for some things, but this could have been a better experience
Great year for a Vette... My dad passed down a 1978 Silver Anniversary to me. Not a very desirable car as far as collectors go but it is special to me. I agree 100% with your Dodge sentiments

I like your Woodstock analogy... For me in my generation its much like hoping waiting and wondering if Guns N' Roses will ever get back at least once and it most likely won't happen... Yet people still want and hope it happens.

On that note, sadly the world lost Joe Cocker yesterday... Great performer and singer and Woodstock attendee. You didn't sing out of tune Joe, you will be missed.

Garden City... Gorgeous part of NY. My folks lived on 9th St. Just because there is money there doesn't make it right to gouge people. I learned from my father... He refuses to ever pay for a car over list and he has had many nice higher and high end vehicles over the years.

the intent of this thread is partially what you say... WE ARE HERE! We are not happy and want some answers. You have a sold product with us!

Hopefully if enough noise is made and the right people read or catch wind, we can get some relief

Thanks for the insight. You've described what a lot of folks I don't believe are aware of how the typical process works. Our frustration comes from the fact of that in all the press releases from Dodge, it was said that all of this would be avoided as much as possible. Additionally, if I recall correctly, the allocation process wasn't announced until after official ordering began. The car business is what it is. Shady. It's their own fault for being viewed that way and the very reason I walked away from a promising career in it. They customers always get screwed. We just want some transparency and more importantly the car that so many of us have made deposits on. Money the dealers are making money off of, not us.

Thank you for your post... It adds to this discussion.

Looking at my order sheet, it says status: BA: pending order and also says : scheduling priority: 1 Sold order

So I'm confused... Dodge has this info as I have discussed it with them

Dodge knows exactly what they are doing. They knew what the response would be. If sales have been increasing since the Challenger came back out and you build a car like this? No excuse
