Petition to Dodge

Dear Dodge,

If you are listening and are viewing these boards, I have a lot of questions that I would like to have answered by someone in the know. As I have stated many times before, I understand that a car of this caliber is not going to come out as quick as we would all like, however, a little clarity in this process would be appreciated by me and I know many other Hellcat brothers and sisters alike. Here we go:

These are simple questions meant with the best intention for all....

1. This dealer allocation process is as clear as mud and here is why I say that. A local dealer here in Dallas has had MANY allocations as they are a large dealer. I don't understand how they have had several 'Cats come in UNSOLD, let me repeat, UNSOLD with a $10,000.00 mark up with no budging. Why is it that I placed a deposit on 8/9/14, ordered on the first day, 9/9/14 and I am still waiting for and "allocation" and a VIN. This is a SOLD... I repeat, SOLD ORDER to a customer yet I feel as if I am off in purgatory simply because I'm subject to this dealer allocation process. I'm sure you are aware of how all buyers feel about dealers and the car business in general. This does not help their cause nor does it do any favors to Dodge.

2. Why not abandon this allocation process and the the orders as they came in? Certainly this would or could avoid dealer gaming and keep they buyer more informed by possibly allowing us to know our place in line.

3. Buyers of vehicles like this are your brands greatest advocates. As you know, this car will allow many of us to play with the big boys which from what I understand was one of the biggest points of this car. I've been in this forum for a little while now and have read many frustrating stories from people you have guaranteed sales from. Why not make the customer your advocate rather than the dealers? I could easily drum up business for any Chrylser product and refer them to the dealer I use, and I'm no salesman.

4. I am not made of money and sitting and waiting for someone to say to my order "so let it be written, so let it be done" has made me put a lot of other financial decisions on hold. I make sound financial decisions and this is what is allowing me to buy this car. Whether I finance or pay cash, you have a SOLD CAR. Please, can you be more transparent with this process? The Hellcat team are bright individuals, I'm sure they anticipated a flood of orders... Just like what happened. Help us out!

If anyone else has any more questions to add, please do. If anyone out there has a line to someone at Dodge that will listen, please pass this on or let me know how I can get these questions and concerns answered. If anyone from Dodge reads this, I would love to hear from you.

Enjoy your Hellcat WT, maybe you know somebody at Dodge that can help me out on getting mine faster. Do you?
F6 My suggestion is follow the Vipers.
I am just a regular Joe Six Pack.
The Viper Dealers are the Connected Dealers.
I was told that Intel in March of 2014.
If you want a Hellcat now look on Dodge.com and call the dealers with Hellcats on the ground.
I bet if your willing to change color you will get a Hellcat just takes some legwork.

Have you considered sending an email directly to Mr. Kuniskis at:
[email protected] ? Obtained his email address from LinkedIn Hope this helps...
I emailed Mr. Kuniskis this morning, and to my pleasant surprise i received a phone call from him personally. We talked 20 minutes about my concerns with the allocation process, and the frustrations that we all are having. He is aware of this and says with over 7000 orders, supplier's are overwhelmed and are ramping up production as quickly as they can. I explained to him that seeing these cars on dealers lots for sale and pre sold orders going untouched are the issues stirring me up as well as everyone else. He says he did not blame anyone for being upset, he would be too. He says be patient just a little while longer and we will see a change as these issues resolve themselves with the vast increase in production. He seemed very sincere and concerned with unhappy customers with the allocation process. I hope this gives hope to all who is waiting on a vin or better yet a car. It has made me better, at least for now. I never directly asked if all orders would be filled, but everything else he said leads me to believe they will. We also spoke about this forum, and he is aware of the need for a designated person to answer questions, even though it won't always be what we want to hear.

Wow, that's awesome you spoke to him directly and that he is aware and working on it. We'll be holding him to it for sure! Please justify our faith in Dodge!

Glad to hear you connected with Mr. K. Sounds like he wasn't surprised to hear your thoughts and the fact that he took the time to call you speaks volumes about him and his commitment to us, the customers. Good luck...it's worth the wait, trust me!
I was shocked when he said it was Tim Kuniskis. I was like really. I knew his voice from hearing his press conference's and that it was him. Plus i never told anyone i sent email. We also talked about my other cars and wanted my thoughts on my 13 viper. I have renewed faith in SRT!!!

It is amazing that he called you (or a very good imitator). Now we know that there are 7000 orders. Not that many, some people thought that more than 10 thousand orders were placed. So they delivered 200 or so (including two to Jay Leno, one to Tammie and one to fflunfy) so only 6800 orders left. Not bad.
I have faith that in 2016 I will have my Hellcat, will see.
Bejesus brother, it better be sooner than 2016!!!

If that was sarcasm, it was wasted on me...LOL!

follow along, they had built over 1500 by the end december per RS and based on another post about 40/day coming out now. so figure something in the 800-1000/month. you might be closer than you think.
A little sarcasm at 10 pm ET to keep me awake is not bad at all. Come on man !!! hahahaha

i'm with you and in the same boat...
Neat that he called. That actually helps a lot.

Hopefully good decisions and focus will start trickling down the organization to get this halo cars out the door and into our garages.

I said it before and ill say it again, I had no problem waiting for my Hellcat to be built. I'll wait my turn in line... I'm no more special than anyone else. The problem is the lack of communication, transaparancy and what HAS been communicated in press releases. We were all told that anyone who orders a Hellcat will get one. Granted that could be in a month or a year and a half but all I and Im sure many of you want was some form of communication at to what is going on here. The press releases also stated that this car was not meant for the folks that have coffers of cash to just buy the latetest and greatest toy, however, in a lot of cases this is preciscely what is happening. It was meant to be affordable to the regular "Joe" that wanted the extreme. We as buyers were handicapped from the get go becasue the allocation process was not made known until ordering began on 9/9 or shortly there after... and even then you had to do your homework. Please correct me If i am wrong becasue i dont want anything I say to be misleading or inaccurate. From the interviews and articles ive read, the purpose of this car was to change the game and make a performance car that is affordable for folks at its price point. I understood the process to discourage dealers from "marking" these cars up becasue they want them on the road to be seen and talked about. When you "mark" a car up an additional $5k, $10K, $15K, or even $20K... it becomes out of reach for many if not most of us. Sure, there are folks that have disposible funds and they will sell the cars, but it defeats and contradicts everything that was communicated by Dodge and leaves an awful foul taste in ones mouth. Im going to go out on a limb and say a large portion of the folks that want this car are what would be considered part of Dodge's loyal CORE customer base and others that would abandon Chevy and Ford to own this car. I was one of them. This is how you grow your brand, this is how you get repeat sales, this is how you take the crown and rule the kingdom. Without loyal, enthusiastic, repeat customers, you may as well be selling fake handbags in Times Square.

I agree, I was going to get a C7 of some sort. I currently have a 1972 C3, but when I saw the Hellcat I was sold. It's too bad the process is not as enjoyable as I am sure the car is. I know there will always be frustration when we have to wait for some things, but this could have been a better experience
I posted a pic of my `72 Stingray coupe (4-speed survivor with factory AC & PS; Ontario Orange Firemist) it is in the other thread titled "What is parked next to your Hellcat", do you have a pic of your C3? I don't plan to get rid of my vette or T-Bucket or SUV or economy car, but really need a muscle car to balance the load, and the Hellcat is the only one that meets my criteria, but I'm still not bonafide, just VONafide unfortunately.

Hey X, mine is an Elkhart Green auto survivor. I will put up a pic a little later. I plan on keeping it too

Thanks Badcat, just that little bit really helps renew faith. One of my dealers called my yesterday to say things were opening up and I could order my Laguna leather, still at $4K over. I said no thanks, I will wait on my original order from another dealer at MSRP. Almost a principle thing now.

Di he say if they had anyone monitoring this forum?
I'm not saying I don't believe you badkat (probably because I want to believe everything you typed as that gives some hope)...but I'd still like for Tim K to come out with a press release saying that so we can shove it in a dealers face when they flat out lie to us trying to justify their ADM. That is how you start to get rid of those markups...publicly come out and say what the hell is going on.
