Petition to Dodge

Dear Dodge,

If you are listening and are viewing these boards, I have a lot of questions that I would like to have answered by someone in the know. As I have stated many times before, I understand that a car of this caliber is not going to come out as quick as we would all like, however, a little clarity in this process would be appreciated by me and I know many other Hellcat brothers and sisters alike. Here we go:

These are simple questions meant with the best intention for all....

1. This dealer allocation process is as clear as mud and here is why I say that. A local dealer here in Dallas has had MANY allocations as they are a large dealer. I don't understand how they have had several 'Cats come in UNSOLD, let me repeat, UNSOLD with a $10,000.00 mark up with no budging. Why is it that I placed a deposit on 8/9/14, ordered on the first day, 9/9/14 and I am still waiting for and "allocation" and a VIN. This is a SOLD... I repeat, SOLD ORDER to a customer yet I feel as if I am off in purgatory simply because I'm subject to this dealer allocation process. I'm sure you are aware of how all buyers feel about dealers and the car business in general. This does not help their cause nor does it do any favors to Dodge.

2. Why not abandon this allocation process and the the orders as they came in? Certainly this would or could avoid dealer gaming and keep they buyer more informed by possibly allowing us to know our place in line.

3. Buyers of vehicles like this are your brands greatest advocates. As you know, this car will allow many of us to play with the big boys which from what I understand was one of the biggest points of this car. I've been in this forum for a little while now and have read many frustrating stories from people you have guaranteed sales from. Why not make the customer your advocate rather than the dealers? I could easily drum up business for any Chrylser product and refer them to the dealer I use, and I'm no salesman.

4. I am not made of money and sitting and waiting for someone to say to my order "so let it be written, so let it be done" has made me put a lot of other financial decisions on hold. I make sound financial decisions and this is what is allowing me to buy this car. Whether I finance or pay cash, you have a SOLD CAR. Please, can you be more transparent with this process? The Hellcat team are bright individuals, I'm sure they anticipated a flood of orders... Just like what happened. Help us out!

If anyone else has any more questions to add, please do. If anyone out there has a line to someone at Dodge that will listen, please pass this on or let me know how I can get these questions and concerns answered. If anyone from Dodge reads this, I would love to hear from you.

Di he say if they had anyone monitoring this forum?
He knew of some of the things being said, so someone has informed him. He was still quoting being upset about untrue rumors about production numbers and other things people think are going on. I believe he has an understanding, but until they figure the madness out, they dont want to say something wrong. He quoted several times to please be patient things are coming together and we will get our cars. He mentioned specific engine parts that were holding back production. But i don't think i should quote them that might get some supplier or someone else pissed off. From speaking about my (our) concerns with him, i don't believe he has spoke with anyone else from the forums and he really did listen to what i was saying. I told him that i don't usually get this upset, but seeing dealers getting cars before the pre-sold orders has everyone fired up. He understood that, and replied that the allocation system was set up without expecting so many orders. He also stated that if they changed that midstream there could be legal consequences, but the dealers with cats sitting on lots overpriced and not sold, their number of days of unsold inventory will keep them off the allocation roster. I spoke of several because of the allocation process that has ordered in November and got their cars, and we are still waiting on vin's. I did get most of our issues out there to him, and i do believe he has a better understanding as to what his loyal customer base is pissed about. What happened to first come first serve? The insanely screwed up allocation system. This was a mistake and they know that, but don't expect them to fess up. All they can do is figure out how to correct it and crank out more cats.

I posted a pic of my `72 Stingray coupe (4-speed survivor with factory AC & PS; Ontario Orange Firemist) it is in the other thread titled "What is parked next to your Hellcat", do you have a pic of your C3? I don't plan to get rid of my vette or T-Bucket or SUV or economy car, but really need a muscle car to balance the load, and the Hellcat is the only one that meets my criteria, but I'm still not bonafide, just VONafide unfortunately.
Hey X, tried on 2 different computers to upload a pic of my C-3. I will get with my son to see if he can help me. Damn, sucks to be an old guy!
we'll see if they think the allocation was a mistake when they open the banks for the 2016 cat. Although I'm thinking the order numbers might be lower for the 2016 given how many are trying to get the 2015...time will tell.
Propaganda Machine of Dodge reminds me of the German era.. Maybe they took a page out of the Hitler playbook.

The only Mystery is how you come up with your post. Big Cheese plays DUH, that not what was said. He was aware of problems and was trying to get things fixed. Forum member sent to Hellcat media day, that shows he was trying to get input before hand. WT, its really easy to call the game on Monday, not so easy to do before hand or during the game. Big cheese has said what he said, lets see what happens, and it won't be over night. Then you can judge for yourself. If what he said is true, this is a moving problem both legal and applied, so dont qoute something he may said months ago. If they under estimated orders give him a chance to get things fixed. I hope you understand what I'm saying and if you ever solved a problem you will, lets see before you call BS.

I'm in the same boat as you all are. Everyone can believe what they want to believe and anybody can say anything. I shared my information with those who want to be optimistic and have hope that things will change and be able to sleep better at night. Those of you who choose to be pessimistic with nothing but negative comments, need to start your own forum and quit dragging everybody else down.
Jim wishful thinking will make you feel better.
The SRT Hellcat engineers are on The World Largest Challenger Forum.
They read the post every day and respond daily.
So Tim K aka Big Cheese is telling you what you what to hear.
But the fact is what it is. They are Very Happy at the moment look what is has you doing drinking the Kool Aid.

I'm not saying I don't believe you badkat (probably because I want to believe everything you typed as that gives some hope)...but I'd still like for Tim K to come out with a press release saying that so we can shove it in a dealers face when they flat out lie to us trying to justify their ADM. That is how you start to get rid of those markups...publicly come out and say what the hell is going on.
Agreed, a private conversation with an Executive is of little worth. Make a public announcement and release to all Dodge dealers and then it's game on. Until then, the mere fact that he said to wait until manufacturing gets caught up tells me all I need to know that they could care less at this point and that encourages the dealerships to get as much $$$ as they can over MSRP until supply meets demand.

Tim at the very least is just as much to blame as the dealerships and could care less. Walk the talk, or please do us all a favor and just sit in your office and shuffle papers and conduct your daily business as usual and just shut the **** up!

You believe what you want, and keep placing your bets on Monday for the game thats already been played. And your right it is "wishful thinking" its called give him a chance before you call BS. Just like you have a chance to respond to what is said about you.

If you have ever run a Company you would understand making a public announcement on an issue that is very small in size and will be pickedup by news reporters is just plain bad idea. Given the number of 7000 orders and 1500 already built that leaves 5500 orders some of which are for sure doubles or more. Of these number not everyone is upset, so going public is crazy.

Give him a [email protected]#
He just told you wait until supply catches up with demand and everything will smooth out, good grief!

He is the manager of the brand, golly gee! They made the public announcement about allocation to dealerships long ago my friend before the car hit the market. It would be a follow up bulletin or press release to the dealerships re-iterating the fact that you better be doing things in an ethical manner or we will pull your future allocation away permanently, especially if you are doing unethical transactions to customers.

If you have ever run company yourself, making sure the people that represent your brand are faithful to doing things in an ethical manner (which reflect back on you ten fold) should be something you want the public to be aware of that you are addressing, if not your doing a rotten job!

I guess running a dealership in this country entitles you to be as dirty, dishonest and unethical as you'd like. Heck GM and Chrysler did a great job of doing that Corporate wise and all us good taxpayers had to bail them out! How is that for running a company?
As always I'm sure, your right thanks for the great insight

These are not little issues with what many have reported on here.
agree 100% as a person that works for a large company which has learned from what we thought were minor issues that got responded to incorrectly in the past... While 7000 orders might not seem like much in the scheme of things, it can be a big burr under the saddle. With today's social media things get escalated and out of control quickly.
Damn, just give the man and the process a chance! Maybe it's bs, maybe not, we'll know in a few months if most folks have their car or it is on the way to them or not. Until then, I'm going to choose to have faith they will come thru. I'll be the first to eat my words if it doesn't happen though.
As always I'm sure, your right thanks for the great insight
I am all for giving the man a chance, but up until now you know the current state of affairs with how current and potential customers have been dealt with. Let's be honest, Tim isn't the one fixing anything, the supply is going to catch up with demand which will in basic economic terms mean the prices will adjust accordingly, it's simple supply and demand, there is no executive rocket science about that.

And for the record, I am not always right. The issue people have with your argument is you seem to not be taking any other point into consideration, you are simply refusing to look at what Tim told you about market conditions.

First I wont argue with an unarmed man, second I simply have said give him a chance. If people have an issue with that its a shame. You can never fix whats broken if not given a chance.
I guess I achieved the goal of this thread if Tim Kuniskis had a direct convo with one of yall. The wait isn't the issue, the allocation process, lack of communication and probably the most sickening is how the dealers are handling this. Not all dealers mind you, but the ones I have experienced and onces others have shared on here. Like I said before, Mr. Kuniskis stated in his press releases that it wouldn't be the way it's being played out when it comes time to get pen to paper.

Parts supply? Understandable to a point but frustrating. What specific parts are in low supply holding this up? Are supplies being reserved for Charger? If so, say so. I would understand that. Might piss me off a little since I want a Callenger but from a business standpoint it makes sense. I'm not an exec so maybe you release that to the press but you can get the word to the folks dying for their Cats.

Reasonable people understand that only so many vehicles can be produced in "X" amount of time and that's why the wait isn't TOO much of an issue for most of us. We get it. We know what this car means and represents to not just the Pony/muscle car segment, but to the auto industry as a whole... Including the world of exotics.

People, or at least I, don't want to feel as we are being played as a fool, getting hopes up, excitement... Only to find out your order, which was said would be filled, isn't. No, this isn't the case for everyone but it is happening.

What better way to make all the other performance cars panic could there be than to get as many of these Cats out on the road in the hands of regular hard working folks like us? That was supposed to have been wahat was to take place according to Tim. You have to be in the game to win, and so far the first quarter isn't looking so hot.

P.S. I love my new ZL1 but I still want a Cat
