I know of a Hellcat with A8 available on the lot right now. Unfortunately the ADM is $10k over. Probably has a lot to do with it sitting on the lot. lol But there might be someone here that really wants the car and wants to pay the price. Might be able to get them to come down some (just my guess) since it's so high but don't expect much. If you want to know where, PM me. I won't just post it so there aren't multiple "bidders" calling to drive it up... And so someone who really wants it can have an advantage.

We picked ours up this morning. We got ours for MSRP. They are selling the chargers for MSRP but still not the challengers. Salesguy said they have a list of about 100 people they call and say they have one at $___ ADM. If no one is interested a week later they drop the price and call again.

Yep, I was one of the people on that list. I ended up buying from an outstanding sales guy and dealership in Lapeer, MI (Bob Lesko with Friendly CDJ). It was well worth the hassle for the care he showed for of me... and for just MSRP.

There's always going to be dealers wanting more and there will always be people willing to pay more... nothing anyone can do about that (and that's the way it should work!). So IF there is someone willing to pay that and if they want that car, no one should stand between them.

Glad you found one at MSRP! I know I wouldn't pay the markup. Originally they were going to sell the chargers the same way so we told our salesguy we would wait till they were MSRP. He called in February and said the GM said chargers would be sold for MSRP. I was there that night putting down a deposit.

i would agree with you if the the hellcat market was at equilibrium or you were buying your car from eBay. your scenerio works when there are unlimited buyers with unlimited supply, a market equilibrium would be reached and the market would be efficient.

just because someone is willing to pay $100 for a bottle of water or $10,000 for a portable generator at a hurricane scene or your electric company raised your rate by a 1000% doesn't mean no one should stand between them.

this is just price gouging from the manufacturer and distributors. this is frowned upon in society and from government.

I think I understand your angle here but I think there is a key difference. Society and government should get in the way when it comes to gouging for products and services that are essential to survivability and maintaining a functioning society. I would even stretch that to say that cheap automobile transportation should be somewhat regulated in areas with little to no public transit. But that's definitely a stretch. Cars are perks. Especially Hellcats. I don't want to pay a markup and I don't think it's right, but I think it's a little more like gouging when you're buying a home in a ritzy area that you just think you must live in. Maybe you'll find a good deal, maybe you won't. The fact is, you don't really have to live there and there will always be someone from the govt or society making sure there is an affordable version out there for those who need it.

With that said, I found my car at MSRP and I did not want to encourage the price gouging with my own dollars.

I guess we will disagree to agree!
