Fixed that for ya.I just disconnected the cable from the transmission on all my Challengers, one problem solved.
But if a pro wants your car it's gone no matter what you do, that's what Car Insurance is for, and if you can't afford a garage then you really can't afford to have this car and maybe you should adjust your priorities.
Agreed but I'm willing to bet cash most are staked out over time first. As in not just randomly stolen off the street where someone parks once. Apartment complexes come to mind. They repeatedly see one parked outside in the same area and make a plan.Well that's a given, but it probably leaves the garage at some point in it's lifetime I would hope. 😁
It's just as easy to stake you out and wait until you leave with it too...Agreed but I'm willing to bet cash most are staked out over time first. I keep one of these in my hellcat, easy to deploy and a visual deterrent. I personally know someone who’s charger was broken into to be stolen but the thieves left it alone when they saw the steering wheel lock. Of course a pro could take it off but 95% of the thieves taking chargers and challengers are young amateurs who don’t have the tools or the know-how to do so
most of these thieves aren’t carrying around anything but a hammer and the tool to make a new key. If they have to take the extra step to cut off a wheel lock most of them will move on to the next car that’s easier to steal. Even if they bring a grinder they’re going to make a whole lot of noise and significantly increase the chance of them getting caught, especially if the car is right outside the persons houseI can zip through that with my cordless DeWalt in less than 1 min. I go one better. My house is not visible from the street, so the only people who know what I have are USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, the oil guy, the propane guy, etc... But when the rare stranger ignores all the NT signs, I meet him with a camera and...
You don't even need a grinder just pull hard in the middle. They'll bend easily enough. I was about to get one but watched a video of some guy just pulling one off. Took less than 5 seconds and didn't make a sound.most of these thieves aren’t carrying around anything but a hammer and the tool to make a new key. I was going to do the same on mine, is it easy to access the cable from under the car? I am going to be putting it on a lift.I just disconnected the cable from the transmission on all my Challengers, one problem solved.

I suggest looking into this..I was going to do the same on mine, is it easy to access the cable from under the car? I am going to be putting it on a lift.
Also, what is the worst that could happen with the cable disconnected?
Couldnt agree more. When I roll into my driveway the garage door is going up, I drive in, and the door goes down. Most of my neighbors don’t even know it’s me in that car when it goes by lol. Suburban area, low crime, don’t care. It only takes one moron to make a mental note, not a whole neighborhood. Many (Most?) HC owners are extremely proud of their cars, as they should be. Unfortunately such pride is detrimental when the proud owner displays it in his driveway or on the street in front of his house. The nefarious know where to look for targets, and such a display plays right into their hands…
