Let me start by saying I HATE, and fear the thought of bringing my car to the dealership for anything, like many of you. That being said a nagging PO62A cel finally forced me to have them check it out. First diagnosis was a sensor which required fuel rail replacement. Light came back on a few thousand miles later showing a bad fuel pump. The car did not have driveability issues and they said okay to drive but don't go too far, lol. Anyways this was late august and I finally got the fuel pump(which was backordered) and the V86 catalytic converter recall (which I reluctantly agreed to) done. Well , this process involved me bringing my car in 5 times and I am happy to say I was satisfied ! No dents, scratches, curbed wheels, grease on seats etc.. They even called to ask permission for the tech to test drive! I agreed and he put two miles on is all. I did find an exhaust bolt they didn't tighten but I took care of that and the tips are pretty damn straight. It cost me 200$ for the deductible on my extended warranty, 100 for the fuel rail and another 100 for the pump. I feel it should have been one charge since it was for the same problem not fixed the first time , but no biggie and I didn't say anything. Anyway, with all the horror stories about dealer shenanigans I thought I'd share a rare positive one! Oh yes, I will still cringe at the thought of going back, but I'm glad this time it worked out! So far, no cel (300 miles) and we'll see what happens If it does because my warranty just expired! That could get interesting. Take care all!

Yes, they are out there. I have to go in soon for the EVAP cannister replacement, along with a blown subwoofer, peeling front calipers, delaminating console; just a bunch of little things. Do you have the extended Max Care?

It was the dodge max care extended but I had the added care plus package which was the middle package.

I know what you mean, though. I dropped mine off for an oil change, tire rotation and valve stem replacement for 1 of the tires. While I was there I noticed a Gold Rush Edition Challenger Hellcat on the showroom floor but it didn't have a window sticker attached. I asked a rep how much and he said $150,000 hard ones. After I stopped choking I asked why and he stated it's limited with only 200 being made. I've heard of markup but WOW! So, instead of an investor buying at a reasonable price and in 20 years selling for $150,000 and making sense the dealer wants all of the potential profit in the future to be put in its hands now. Why would anyone pay that kind of jack up front? It's no longer any type of investment. It will be years before being able to even break even.

When you factor in the cost of keeping the car for 20 years you would never break even at 150k. Nor will it be worth anywhere near that.

There’s a huge one in my area that’s hit or miss, mostly miss. Then there’s a small dealer in my area that’s usually really good. I’d give a thumbs up to Dan O’Brien in methuen mass. And a meh sometimes almost ok to herb chambers in ma.
