Hoping another forum member knows something on this...

2017 Charger Hellcat, A8 transmission... Since upping my power from 700 to 900 whp, I sometimes get a power loss just before shifting under WOT in the 130-150MPH range. My tuner is working on this already, and I’m sure he will nail it, but I’m bored and stuck in a hotel room I’m trying to see what I can learn on my own.

My tuner thinks the bypass valve is being told to open at a shift point for someone reason, and suspects the TCM reacting to the higher power the car is now making.

I found a thread with similar issue description and the fix was to reset TCM adaptives, which I plan to do tomorrow. That’s the best I’ve got so far.

Anyone else think they have seen this and might know the fix?

Are you doing any transmission tuning as well?

Not as of yet. Had not even bought the TCM license from HP Tuners until tonight.

That will fix your problems. Its like the car is "defueling" in between shifts right? It almost sounds like a slipping clutch would on a manual car? Then the trans tuning should fix your problems.

I hope you are right buddy. You know... the most similar thing I have ever exerienced was in my 2015 M4 when it would get misfire at high RPM just before shifting. It would “sputter,” where this just kind of lets off.

The only other thing I kept wondering about is that I have a 2017... and most tuners have been working with 2015-2016. I can’t help but wonder if 2017’s have something different...

Stock the car shuts off some fueling To ease the shift and the tuner can disable that without a tcm tune. Something to try for troubleshooting. That mph is right around where cot kicks on my car.
