To all of those OG Standard body folks. What panels did you cover with PPF? I was going to get the full front done (bumper hood fenders mirrors). Any thoughts on if it’s worth getting the fenders done? Is there any other areas prone to rock chips that should be wrapped? All thoughts and ideas appreciated.

I searched through other threads on this subject. Most are for the widebody cars. So I thought I would post this. Thanks.

I'm getting mine Ceramic Pro'd on Monday. Have the same dilemma. Still need to think about it but I'm not thrilled about them removing the emblems and then trying to get them back exactly in the right place. I think I'm leaning toward doing the front minus the fenders. I also have the matte painted hood, top, trunk and spoiler so I'll have all that done as well.

I'd do the full front at a minimum. I'd also do the lower rockers if it's not that much more money(they did mine half way up the doors all the way to the rear bumper). For a standard body don't think the fenders are needed.

If you do TONS of highway driving, I also got a film on my windshield(it's a specific type of PPF).

If you want the bare bones minimum, I'd say front bumper and hood only, they seem to take the brunt of the hits. Also Rock guards if you don't PPF the rockers(I'm actually running ZL1 rock guards and PPF'd rockers).

Not a big fan of PPF but I use it on the rear of all wheel openings, just the lower portion wrapping to the outside of the panel about ¾=1”. A lot of it gets covered by the splashguards.

I’m considering some on the rear bumper where you naturally lean on it when lifting something heavy into and out of the trunk. Already have some scuffs there.

I had mine done from windshield post forward. Mirror caps, fenders , hood and bumper. Then i had the entire car ceramic coated. Absolutely love it. I also installed factory front and rear mud guards, as they do tend to throw rocks up on the front doors. Well worth every dime!

For those that did half panels. Is the line where the PPF stops very noticeable? Especially to those that have been on the car awhile.

Im for sure doing the front bumper hood and mirror caps. Most likely the windshield too but I’m going back and forth on the fenders. I don’t like the idea of removing the emblems either. Also car will be fully ceramic coated.

Thank you for all the info fellas keep it coming. Good info for the standard body crowd.

Yea you can notice it. Trade looks for protection. If I wanted a show car I wouldn’t do PPF. Mine is a driver.
I don’t mine the line because it’s low on the car. The PPF on my stripes irritate me I may have them redone though.
Keep in mind the point of PPF is you can unwrap it 10 years from now and it’s like it came off the showroom. So any aesthetics impacts get traded off for that. It’s like the plastic wrapped couches back in the day lol.

View attachment 600291 That doesn’t look bad at all. Being really low it’s not noticeable.

Front fascia, mirrors, and A-pillars. No need to worry about the hood or fenders. Mopar splash guards are best for fender protection.

To echo what others have said, if you plan to show the car, I don't recommend PPF. It looks great until it starts to wear. It will get pockmarks from debris and if you have any mid-panel seams, eventually you'll start to see those edges worse and worse as the material cures and dust and what-not build up along those edges. While it will keep your paint nice, the PPF will start to look like utter shit on the front bumper in 5-10k miles if you drive it regularly.

Some people won't agree with me. I define "utter shit" as irregular looking with aforementioned pockmarks, lifted seams, marring and so on. As things hit the PPF it will damage it over time. If you plan on showing the car, plan on buying a large knee-high show board to cover up the damaged look on the front bumper. I know this from experience :)
