I emailed them using that link asking how many were built...now with that I'm guessing it was the cargo net that got mine down to 1 of 2...I can't imagine too many people ordered the cargo net...it was only $30, that's the only reason I checked that box

Gotta have a cargo net for 30 bucks for sure. We used ours all the time.

It would seem a lot of people are getting the email from Dodge on both the Challenger and Charger side of the house saying their car is a 1 of 1 or a 1 of 2, and they are getting pretty pumped about it. All it really says is that you ordered your car against the grain and went against what normal people would have ordered. What it does not say is because of your uncanny ability to prognosticate the modern collectable car market you hit the lottery.

Or Dodge is just sending those out to make people feel special...I haven't decided which one I want to tell people yet. Either way its pretty neat if you ask my opinion

i ordered mine because i live in a cold climate so there is little damage to the engine upon start up, when the engine is already up to temp. instead of dead cold waiting for all the internals to warm an expand to engine temp. pretty much a no brainer

Only problem is none of the were manufactured in the United States. All were made in Canada.

I would disagree with you on all accounts...this is a modern engine, you cause zero damage starting in the cold. With that being said I'm not knocking you, its your car, you believe what you want

Just curious...why did you go for the block heater? After all this is a gasoline engine, not a diesel
I guess you never been anywhere that gets really COLD.

Definitely less wear on initial startup with the block heater plugged in, will the engine survive without it? Sure but it's still better for the engine when the temps head towards single digits and colder.

Sad thing is that it looks like the engine block heater is no more, used to be standard on all Canada cars and optional on US but for 2022 it is nowhere to be found.

I noticed that too. I guess I not only have a one-of-one, but also the last year of the coveted, highly sought after, authentic mopar block heater. I'm sure my car just doubled in value.

All kidding aside, I think I selected the block heater out of force of habit. I live where there are legit cold winters, but I don't drive my Charger in winter, or park it outside.

I'd disagree, in fact I don't think there is any data out there that would suggest an engine with a block heater would last longer that one without. I'm guessing I could ask my brother. He's an engineer for Audi that does their cold weather test in Prudhoe Bay, hands down the coldest place in the US. If anyone would know, I'm guessing he would be one of them.

If we were talking diesel's that another thing...even though modern diesel start just fine without a block heater. Again if you want to order one, by all means, order it, run it, talk about it. I personally don't see a benefit on modern engines

Probably for the normal life of the average user it wouldn't make much difference, but metals in the engine do contract with the cold temps and clearances can change and also its harder for the oil to flow so there's more wear, how much who knows and the car companies would probably say not enough to worry about and they're probably right. Still an option they should have kept for those that want it.
