I had a PST drive shaft on my SRT 6.1 Challenger and it was great.

PST is not the one you would want for your Hellcat. They need to do more R&D
I know of a car that had a catastrophe fail most likely caused by a PST ds.

“Custom fitted” is key imo. Supposedly the flange to flange dimension can vary by up to almost a whole inch from one challenger to another. I installed the sonnex flanges on mine, got a center to center dimension for the caps, and had the shaft made .440” short

Having a shop that can balance the entire unit, u-joints and the sonnex flanges, is just as important to me

Welding a bar (on the exhaust) will help keep the shaft in the tunnel should it break but as long as it never contacts anything I don’t expect to run into that anyways. Enjoy : )

My shop has used PST for a long time with great results. The required measurements BEFORE building. Then it showed up in 2 days.

The extent of the damage done by the exploding stock driveshaft:

Replace 2.62 Diff
Installed Control Arms and Diff Braces
DSS CV Axles rated @ 1200hp
PST 4" Aluminum Driveshaft, custom built
BMR Cradle Lockout Bushings
Rebuilt Transmission
Exhaust Control Valve Actuators

Pending: New ECM.

Sad thing is the car will be raced only occasionally if at all. I can't afford any more breakage.

Drive Shaft exploded, taking out Diff and Cracking tranny case. So all of that stuff has been installed to prevent wheel hop and a recurrence. Waiting for now ECM - the one in the Cat seems to have gone bad.

Ask your shop how many other customers they have installed a PST Driveshaft in a Hellcat?

I can %100 agree PST is a Good company and I had one installed on my 2010 SRT8 6.1

Maybe they are past more R&D now or they needed the measurements because you have one of their newer types.

I was actually wondering if you were asking about PST because you had one installed and if that was the one that exploded.

But I see it was a stock one.
