Hey All,
So after my first car show, and borrowing a fire extinguisher last second to make sure I got points for it, I decided to purchase one that still looks great and is functional. It should get here Thursday and I will install it on Friday for the show Saturday. The mount is bolt on and uses the existing seat bolts. I was able to get it through Summit Racing in time for the weekend. I think it's a clean install and looks great. You can never be too safe in a car with this much power and that makes this much heat. I think it will really pop against the Sepia interior as well.

LOL yea, that's the picture from Summit Racing's website. I'll post pics of mine once I install it. That's the spot it will be in the Challenger as well.

What size and type of extinguisher are you going to use? Anyone else have recommendations on this?
I'm using the H3R Performance HalGuard HG250B 2.5lb. extinguisher. It uses Halotron I as it's extinguishing agent. Here's what the description says:

These H3R Performance HalGuard fire extinguishers feature a clean agent--an electrically non-conducting liquid or gaseous fire-extinguishing agent that does not leave a residue. They feature high-quality steel cylinders with all-metal valve construction, are available in chrome or red painted finishes, and are compact, lightweight, and easy to use. H3R Performance HalGuard fire extinguishers will leave no mess or damage to the vehicle or surfaces, will not impair the operator's vision, provide no thermal shock to electronics, and are EPA-approved. The liquefied gas extinguishes those hard-to-reach fires that are common in many applications. Clean agent fire extinguishers like these H3R Performance HalGuards have long been the product of choice for protecting classic automobiles and race cars, not to mention aircraft, computer rooms, and other high-tech equipment.

Come on you can tell us, are you worried about the fuel line recall?

On a serious note that is a nice mount for the setup!
LOL that's funny! I had the recall work done so I am not worried...but you can never be too safe!

Update: The universal mount does NOT work on the seats of the Hellcat. I got creative and mounted it standing up in the corner of the trunk using the screw on cap behind the tail lights. It actually looks stock and is a much better location being that it won't be under the passenger seat. I will post a pic when it is light outside.

Just ordered one of the Speedtactics, I'll post some pics once it's installed. I'm also thinking of adding another extinguisher in the trunk just for redundancy. I normally carry 2 in every pickup just because I've had to fight a fire or two in my life and there's nothing worse than almost having the fire out and running empty with an extinguisher!!
