Question about independent rear suspension and traction control

Driving my Hellcat with the traction control turned off COMPLETELY got me to thinking.. I drove all sorts of modified cars in the 70s and 80s, including a supercharged big block Chevy with G60/15 tires, and It never felt as squirrley as the Hellcat at half throttle with the traction aid disabled. Not once did my older solid axle cars ever "get away from me".

Does independent rear suspension actually make straight line acceleration LESS predictable?

It is highly likely those older cars didn't have anywhere near the amount of power that you think/thought they had.
