Do the section of pipes with the "cats" number match the car?

Brad, which pipes are you referring to? Exhaust? Which sections? Headers, front pipes, rear? Are you referring to VIN numbers on the exhaust pipes matching the car's VIN? Sorry I couldn't make it last night. Leaving for Orlando for 10 days so I'll see you and the group at the usual stops the following week.

you mean the exhaust setup? There probably is a part number stamped on it, but no there shouldn't be any VIN's stamped on it.

the very first section of piping right off motor, has the catalytic converters, wondering if that 4 foot section of piping has any match to the specific car. this section then clamps (just under the drivers seat area of the car) to the rest of the exhaust and then runs to the back of the car.

Never heard of it. Why would it need a VIN?

I have been under my car up to the mufflers,,, there is no vin in the exhaust,, not sure about the cats!!.

Brad, I've never heard of or seen any exhaust system pipes being VIN matched. You'll be ok to cut into them, and if you don't like it, there will be no issues with pipe replacement. Can't wait to hear it!
