Considering either the 7000EXT or the 7000SLX, the difference being the ext has an additional 6” of lift length, obviously both are rated at 7k for weight. I’ll use it for other vehicles so I don’t mind the additional lifting capacity. Right now Home Depot is running a special on the SLX 1450.00 for the bundle, which saves about 300 and included extended pucks for suv’s and wall hangers. So the question is go slx for savings or the extra few hundred (300.00 or so) for the fuller length ext? QJ direct is offering 150.00 off the 5000 & 7000 SLX lifts for Fathers Day. Thanks to all.

@Mattm400 which one and did you get the kit, or just the lift?

Is always better to have more capacity and not need it than to have less and need more, especially when it's only a few bucks your talking about.

I have the 7k version for 5 years now, use it all the time and never had a single problem.

I use it to keep my Porsche off the ground, when not doing routine maintenance on my other vehicles.

Never needed the 7k lift capacity until my wife bought 4runner TRD Pro a few years ago, that beast tips the scales at 6500lbs 😲, and the quick jack handles it with ease.

Great info guys, thanks. I'll probably go with the 7000 as well.

Glad you asked about this, I have the 7000SLX and I am still trying to figure this out.

The SLX works great with the Wrangler and Silverado, but it is a bit short for the Challenger. Thus far I have been catching the pucks on the rear of the car and using blocks on the recommended front points 12” in. This requires the QJ to be diagonal, and though it works, it puts shear stresses on the blocks because lifting on the diagonal causes them to move closer to center. It also reduces your working area.

Assuming the proper place to put a pinch weld adapter in the front is at the recess that looks like the scissors jack point, the SLX is about 5” short from reaching the rear pucks. The rear recess (that appears to be a jack point) is another 5” back.

I don’t know how the other guys do it with the SLX and pinch weld adapters, maybe they can help us both.

Do you guys put the pinch weld adapters put the front at the recess and then put the rear adapter as far back as the QJ allows? This would be about 5” forward of the puck and maybe 10" forward of the rear recess.

Your help on this is greatly appreciated!

I would think this would be the way to go since you’ve got to shade the jacks and lifting effort towards the front anyway to compensate for the nose heavy bias. I plan on using pinch weld adaptors rather than the rear pucks although the longer version of that lift gives an additional 6 in of lifting length. Is it worth 300+? I’m tending to doubt it.

Has anyone used this with ZL1 sid skirts?? Since they cover the pinch weld area I'm wondering how this will work. I've ordered it regardless, but it might be a trick for this car.

Matt, I have the zl1 skirts as well. I do recall in their install video on yt with the guy saying that each of those metal mounting tabs act as jacking points. Recalling how they mount it seems that they will work with the supplied rubber blocks. Guess we’ll see.

I bought the kit from Home Depot too when it was on sale a few months back. I’ve only used it a few times since then but they really do work great. Your putting it together thinking maybe this was a stupid purchase. But when you use it it’s like wow I shoulda got this a long ass time ago.

Ok, awesome, that's what I was thinking. I remember the front one being bigger than the rest so it makes sense. Thanks!
Says I should receive them by the end of month.

I may pull the trigger within a few days. I just want to do a little more looking around. @trakpak which model did you get?

Go with the EXT model. I'm sure you can make the standard length model work but the ext model works great and if you want to fit an suv on there you will need the extra length the hit the jacking points properly. I ordered the extra length model it just fits my wifes Armada properly, any shorter and I would have to rig something up. I also have a C8 on order and according to what I read online in several places, it will require the ext model as well to lift it in the right spots. Regardless, I can highly recommend the Quickjack. Great product, excellent build quality, and extremely sturdy. I have no reservations getting under my car when it is on my Quickjack.
